2182 need a new deck? Swap options?
Folks, hope you can help me here. I have a 2182 from my late father-in-law. Tractor is worth keeping, but the 46" GT deck is rusted out. From what I can tell, nobody sells the shell anymore. From cub, PN is 759-3496. Entire deck is 190-321-100. So, here is my question....does anyone know if I can swap another deck into the unit? I am not afraid to cut/weld on the original brackets and such to hang it correctly. A bigger deck is also an option, but I think the original Cub decks that were larger than 46" required some additional brackets, which I do not have. It also looks like this older deck has some obsolete parts, like the spindles and such....so a modified newer deck would be super as I could get parts for it if/when needed. Thanks much for giving it some thought! PS, I cant seem to find a 46 GT deck used, or I would go that route.

I see 46 GT's for sale on letgo and craigslist all the time. You may have to broaden your search and be ready to drive 100 miles but would most likely be the best way to go.

These were used as options on your tractor. You'll need a different lift frame for the 54" mower. You can use your existing mule drive. Don't know about the 50C mower.
I don't see any reason the 48" mower as used on the standard Cyclops wouldn't work either. Cub Cadet 336 46" Mower Super Garden Tractor Cub Cadet 324 54" Mower Cub Cadet 359 50C 50" Mower Super Garden Tractor |
Here is a brand new 60" deck that will work on your 2182

Ken,
I have a 46 GT deck that I would sell . It was on a 1864 with about 330 hrs on the tractor. Arbor bearings seem good, no rust through, have 2 sets of blades. I used it last summer. Replaced double deck pulley bearings and idler pulley. Im about 20 miles north of Elmira,NY.I was going to craig list it for 150 if your close enough to be interested. nick |
Nynick,
If you were a few hours closer, I’d take the deck as a spare. I find that things always break when you have the least time available to fix them. A spare deck is a quick swap when bad things happen. |
