Two Cub lowboy 154 projects

So the group scared me away from the neighbors expensive super cub with parts that are tough to find.

In place of those I found a option.

I am curious if these lowboys are a good find and what they might be worth? I needed something bigger for cutting grass on my ten acres and working a one acre garden. I sold a 169 and a 123 today and had found these. Both "ran when parked" which is of course cliche but I think the seller is a good guy. Both lowboys have three points in the rear and creeper setups. I can imagine a bunch of tlc and elbow grease will be needed.

What is a fair price for both? I like the idea of backups. Thanks

Same answer as last time.. We need to see some pictures to determine some sort of condition on them. That said I have seen running 154's for sale from 500$ up to 3500$.

What is the seller asking for them?

Here are the pictures of the lowboys. Sorry it took me a bit to reduce the size so that I could post them up.

WHen is the last time they ran.. If you think theres no major issues getting them to run.. I would be willing to pay that much.

Check your local Craigslist to see what they are going for in your area. Lo boys can be a money pit. Also, look up Hamilton Bobs for parts.

They have been sitting for four years. Thanks so much guys. Locally I have not seen many sell for less than $1000. I have been watching cubs for a year or so. Thanks again

If you are real handy with tools and can fix most anything go for it.
Don't think many fellers like the mowing ability of the lowboys.
and if it needs a clutch like most do @ one time or another, they have to be split to do it.
Not a problem other than expense for a fellow with the ability, and a good shop with equipment.
I'm thinking if you are asking here, you are not the person.
Please no offence, I do not know anything of your expertise or lack of it.:bigthink:

I'm not sure what your budget is but I would go look for a used Kubota B or BX series machine if you want a tractor. We mow 4-5 acres a week with our B7500 with 60" deck and they are a beast. + we are still running the original deck belt at 1500 hours.:beerchug:

Those IH machines are 1950 technology are very under powered from what I hear.

Thanks

Hey fellas- I am not offended. They do seem like a heap of work unless I hear he got them running. The Kubota sounds like a better fit. I'll pass the lowboys lead to a buddy who can do that kind of work.

Thanks a bunch
