Complete 50" Deck Rebuild Kit question

I'm pondering rebuilding my 50" deck on my 149 Cub. Has anyone taken a new kit and adapted it to the older decks? Just curious if its possible or not.

Never heard of a "kit" to rebuild a deck.
Normally one replaces the worn items on a deck, like spindle bearings, or belts or idlers, or pulleys.
What specifically is the problem with your 50" deck?
if you are asking of the spindle bearings, yes
you can use the later model aluminum housings with the tapered roller bearings, instead of the early "waterpump" stamped steel 2 piece housings. :BlahBlah:

So would a setup like this work: https://www.amazon.com/Assembly-918-04126-918-04126B-918-04125-618-04126/dp/B07PJK7QWB/ref=asc_df_B07PJK7QWB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416617970121&hvpos=&hvnetw= g&hvrand=5232589995903655161&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt =&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024226&hvt argid=pla-890942695628&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=94717458420&h vpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=416617970121&hvpos=&hvnetw=g &hvrand=5232589995903655161&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmd l=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024226&hvtargid=pla-890942695628.

At the moment I can't say what isn't working since I stupidly didn't torque my blades down when I resharpened them so I lost two blades during a mowing run and had to track them down. I've only had the 149 for the last 3 years but the cub sat for the last year. I figured this mowing season the 149 needed to run instead of us mowing with just our new mower. And thus I'm trying to reduce the number of times I pull the deck from under the tractor by doing a rebuild ahead of time.
We are different than the rest of our rural HOA, mowing with "tractors" and not zero-turns. Sometimes there is joy in riding mowers that others don't see.

New Spindle Assembly Sorry fixed it. I got a reply from the seller: "it fits Cub Cadet: i1050, LT, SLT and RZT with 50" deck using special design for 6 pt. star center hole, fit for MTD: i1050, LT, SLT and RZT with 50" deck using special design for 6 pt. star center hole. And also you can compare the part number : 618-04125, 618-04126,618-04126A,918-04125, 918-04125A, 918-04125B, 918-04126,918-04126A,918-04126B" Since part numbers change, I guess I'll have to verify hole placement.

Those spindles have 4 bolt mounting pattern.
The ones on your deck, assuming it is the correct deck, have a triad (3 bolt) mounting pattern.
In addition, the blade positions under the deck, and the pulley positions (height) above the deck are going to be completely different.

Possibly I led him astray when mentioning in post #2 the later Aluminum housings will work.
I forget sometimes to mention that we are dealing with 40+ year old equipment and something 10 years newer is not considered "modern" by any means in reference to todays equipment.
Prolly a better reply would be including a part number for reference of the upgraded spindle assy.
Those spindles linked, will not work for a lot of reasons mentioned, but also for the reason they have a star pattern for the blade drive unlike the round hole blade required on the deck he has.
I suppose with a lot of modifications anything can be made to work where it was not designed too but I'm sure he just wanted a cheap plug/play assy.
Upgraded used spindles do show up on the 'net but usually not inexpensive.

Yeah my biggest worry was when my grease gun ate two of the zerts on top of the spindles. I've tried screwing in new ones but for some reason they won't thread in. So now I'm worried I'll lose my spindles this mowing season, hence the reason for the upgrade.

You are correct mine, is a 3 bolt with center to center spacing of 3.75". I wished they made a modern mower deck for these vintage tractors. Well I'll keep looking for solutions. If I find any, I'll create a new post.

Thank you everyone for your input!

If your grease zerks are anything like mine, they are a press fit, not screwed in.

Measure the diameter of the hole. Amazon has new ones.

4 Attachment(s)
The spindle known as the water pump style is ST-745 or 741-3001. (pics 1 & 2)
It is a sealed unit and cannot be repaired, although some folks have done it.

The later style and replacement for the above is 759-3479. (pics 3 & 4)
It is completely rebuildable.

Neither is cheap!
