12HP Kohler in a 124 Dies ?

Hey Guys, my 124 normally runs like a top... Today after about 5 minutes on running it just died... Gave it 5 minutes, restarted no problem... then 5 minutes later, dead... I'm thinking it's electrical. I checked the connections and everything is tight... Not sure where to look... Any help and suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bernie

Sounds like a bad coil. They heat up and quit working then when they cool a little they will work again until they get hot.

when it dies check for spark.

As mentioned it could be a coil, or condenser
Loss of Fuel to carb, check for adequate flow when it stops.
Could be a stuck valve, does it back fire out the exhaust or intake?
Just simple no cost checks for you to do,
before throwing non needed parts at an unknown problem.
K.I.S.S,--- Keep it simple/stupid:beerchug:

Usually when I start thinking Electrical it turns out to be fuel. I have learned
to make sure all fuel issues are resolved first. There inexpensive fixes and
then even if it wasn't the initial issue, that variable is eliminated.
Spotless gas tank inside.
rebuilt carb.
fuel shutoff working correctly.
Good luck, you'll get it.
