Peco vacuum and Broyhill sprayer
 

Two questions, one post.

1) Going to look at a Peco vacuum "Homeowner 20" sometime next week. The seller says he has the chute for the mower deck but not the hose from the chute to the blower. Is the chute universal, so it will fit my 105? Where could I find a replacement hose? I have seen advertising pictures of people using a long hose with a "handle" of some sorts away from the mower; how difficult would it be to find parts for it?

2) I have attached pictures of my Broyhill sprayer that I bought last year. Try as I might, I cannot find any information on this, anywhere. I am hoping that someone has one of these things or has seen one of these things. I cannot find anything on the pump. The engine is a 3HP Briggs and Stratton that needs some work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but it appeared to be different.

Bought the Peco and ordered a new hose. Were the mower deck chutes different depending on the model? This one isn't a glove-tight fit on my Cub Cadet deck.

The peco that I have fit my triangle 42 inch deck chute perfect and I'm assuming would fit the 38 the same. However, it would not fit my 48 triangle deck and had to be modified to work.

Very cool sprayer! Never seen one before. The pump looks like a Hypro to me.

I'm bumping this thread again to see if anyone new can help me find any information on this sprayer. I'm going to need to get a refurbished B+S 2, 3 or 4 hp engine to keep it looking original; however, I still have no clue about the pump or the sprayer itself. I emailed Broyhill tonight but don't expect an answer until Tuesday at the earliest. I am hoping that in the interim, someone knows something about these. Thanks for any help!

What exactly is it you are wanting to know? Where to get parts? How to fix it? If parts are what you seek, what parts? You can get a sprayer pump from a million places. If you want that exact pump... good luck. If you want that pump rebuilt, I can give you contact info to a pump shop than can fix it. Guaranteed. Even if they have to make the parts. How much is it worth to you though? I would just replace the pump. Way less than having that pump rebuilt.

Everything you ask, I would want. Specifically,

A) How it operates. It is now missing hoses and belts after a friend tried to get it running, couldn't, and then lost those and other parts.

B) Where to find parts that could fit. It looks like the pump is missing some grease cover; what modern pump could be used in its place? What size belt did it take? The engine is shot (and also is missing the tank and carb, see above as to why) and there is a refurbished one of a similar vintage nearby but it's 2 HP; would that be sufficient?

At this point I am interested in just getting it going and finding a pump that could be fitted. This isn't something that I want to spend a fortune on, but I would like to keep it close to original if at all possible. Thanks for reaching out.

So, I'm not sure I want to take the time to draw up a plumbing schematic for you... or look up all the parts, or locate replacements for you. That's a pretty tall order. Before I do anything, I have two more questions.

1.) Do you plan to use this machine? Show it? Sell it?
2.) You stated you want to keep it as original as possible.... but why do you want to keep it original? You could set this up with an electric pump and it would be easy and fairly cheap. No second engine to find, or maintain.... or listen to while you are spraying. I wouldn't use an engine to run it.... I would put an electric pump on it, or drive it off a rear PTO. You don't have a tractor with a rear PTO do you? Do you have any opposition to that? Or do you have your heart set on keeping it as is? Back when it was built, I doubt an electric pump was available.

You needn't look up the parts or draw up a schematic. I was hoping to find a manual that would have all that already. To answer your questions, I am planning to use it. We have a large yard and I imagined using it prior to applying fertilizer or lime, and if we are in an extended drought. I also want to keep it original because that's just who I am ... I much prefer to keep it as original as possible. I have a 1962 Buick that I have tried to keep as original as I possibly can (I do not like mods at all), and while that has proven to be aggravating at times because parts are getting scarce, it is a source of pride that this is what it intended to look like. That's why I'd like to use a B+S engine of comparable age. Lastly, I do not have a rear PTO on my 105. I definitely have my heart keeping it as is.

On another forum, it appears that this is a Hypro Twin Piston pump in the 5200 or 5300 range, as ol'George said. I'm going to do some research on that now.
