What is the difference between a Snowthrower and a Snowblower..??

A snowthrower is a single stage snow removal piece of equipment, incorporating a Auger and Paddle into one assembly.

A snowblower is a dual stage snow removal piece of equipment, incorporating a feed Auger and a Blower Fan (or impeller).

Here are some advantages and disadvantages to both designs:

Snowthrower....

Pros:

* Less costly to operate
* Requires less Horse Power
* Can move larger volumes of snow at a given speed

Cons:

Doesn't discharge snow as far

Snowblower....

Pros:
* Discharges snow farther than a snowthrower

Cons:

* More costly to purchase
* More costly to maintain
* More costly to operate
* Weighs more than a snowthrower
* Requires greater Horse Power
* Moves less volume of snow at a given speed
