Not too much of a customization, though if IH made a 14hp gear drive Quietline model, this is what it would be. Picked up a nice k321aqs, added a cast iron oil pan, new ISO engine mounts, cradle mod, new cold roll drive line, old school 3 pin driver, blue clutch spring, and am now in the process of adding original equipment lighting to this former QL model 1000. Here, its currently getting set up for snow plowing season.

That's pretty neat! Thought about finding a 147 with a bad hydro or something and dropping a gear drive transaxle/clutch on it, too bad there's no 147s around here other than the one I got :beerchug:

Crazy how that thing sticks to the wall so well though right? :biggrin2:

You will like that blue clutch spring, feels just right. Mike:beerchug:

Nice! I have always wanted to build either a 146 or 148.

I had a 108 I bought almost new in '72. About three years later I had a chance to buy a 14 out of a 1450. Got the engine, electric PTO, wiring harness. Made a good conversion except that bigger engine shook the tractor a lot more than the 10 hp. I think I had to massage the Quiet Line heat shield on the engine a little to get it to clear the 108 grille.

I also put a creeper gear in it. I had way more power than what the 42" mower deck needed.

Many years later, I pulled the 14 and put the original 10 back in it and gave it to my son. He still has it.

Thanks guys! The k241 aqs I removed was a little tired, but still ran the mower deck well. But the 14 in it now, big difference in power! I'll definitely post updates, working straight through until Thanksgiving, which I should be able to finish the 1400 up. Adding rear IH wheel weights too! :beerchug:
