Re-seeding and aerating the fast way

I was reseeding hay fields Sat morning. I had a little seed left over so I decided to do my yard. Lets just say I had to drop down a gear and not turn around real fast so I didn't dig any holes. It has been incredibly dry here so tractor tacks were not a problem. In places the drill was having trouble getting the coulters in, they do a nice job aerating.

So, you want alfalfa and clover in your lawn.:bigthink:
I'm trying to get rid of it, and you're planting it...:bigthink:

Like it!:beerchug:

I have been looking for a small heavy no till seeding implement for a while to do the same. No one around me has one to rent. The food plot industry makes them but too pricey. Would love to rent something my 4 wheeler can pull. My lawn in some ares is nearly all weeds.

Try your local FSA ( Farm service agency)
Ours has a small & larger tye drill for inter seeding.
They loan it out, don't know the cost, I've never needed it. :bigthink:

We grow fescue for horse hay. Not much market here for alfalfa (no dairies left), most folks prefer orchard grass for horses.

Oh sure, makes sense now. I was wondering, what the hecks he want that in the lawn for.:biggrin2:
When someone here says "hay", I'm thinking the alfalfa/clover mixtures around here, that the farmers plant. We used to mix Timothy in with ours for the beef cattles hay.
