Can I bug you with a quick question ?
I just acquired a model 1872.
Here is my question: What is this thing, in regards to the forums ? By this I mean , is it this ? IH Cub Cadet Tractors (GT) (23 Viewing) General talk area for International Harvester Cub Cadet Garden Tractors! Or is it this ? CCC/MTD Cub Cadet built Tractors (GT) (25 Viewing) General talk area for CCC/MTD built Cub Cadet Garden Tractors!! Or this ? Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor (LT) (7 Viewing) General talk Forum for Lawn Tractors Thanks much ! A preview of my next question .... How to I know what attachments will fit it , specifically a front blade ? |
Your 1872 was built between 1987 and 1989. That would make it built by Cab cadet as part of MTD. So your posts about that would be in the
CCC/MTD Cub Cadet built Tractors (GT) threads. Welcome BTW! Here is a link to your tractor on parts tree. At the bottom of the page they list the attachments that were available when new. https://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-...6-300-799-999/ |
Information on different models
Here is a web site that you can find the information.

Thanks for the great info !!
OK here is yet another in the long line of questions ....... Is the 1872 considered a "small" frame or "large" or "Wide" ? |
''It is a wide frame, actually a "spread frame" as it is spread out for the width of the twin engine in front.:beerchug:

Welcome to OCC...........:Welcome2:
In addition to the above, the 1872 is considered a Super Garden Tractor (SGT). |
Welcome! 1872 is a great machine. Some folks are IH purists, but MTD made great tractors for a long time after they picked up the Cub Cadet brand in 1981.

Will a front plow from a 1811 fit my 1872 ?
