Oil & Smoke

I have a 3165 with just over 700 Hourso n it.
It usually takes about 90 minutes to mow the lawn.
Second time using it this year it started smoking like crazy– Blowing out of the exhaust – going up hills.
Upon further investigation, oil was being sucked or pushed down the carburetor through the little rubber tube inside the air filter housing. I check the oil again and it is not over full.
Also, after checking
The air filter had not been changed since last season. Had 27 hours on it and was filthy. Put in a new one and I am still having the same problem.
Anybody have any ideas? Sure like this little guy and would like to keep it for many more years. Thanks Jeff

See if there is a breather/check valve that has messed up and pumping oil up the tube to air filter. Maybe something has gotten stopped up and is holding oil in the valve chamber? I would start by following the tube back to the valve cover/breather. I should have asked first, this is blue (oil) smoke, right? A look in the parts book may help also.

700 miles?

That's a lot of back and forth!

Thanks for the tips-I will check that out in a few days and let you know what I find.
