Rejuvenating motor-driven PTO
Is it possible to clean out old grease, clean and regrease front motor driven pto?
|
Not sure what kind of PTO you're referring to, but if it's a mechanical one I don't think it's supposed to have grease in it at all! Heck, I don't think electric ones should either!

My bad, for the old narrow frames.

Motor driven PTO bearing for 72, 104 and 124.

.......lol, crickets?
|
Clean and dry.
It's a friction device. If it is greasy you must have an engine oil leak nearby or the bearing is about to give up the ghost. |
There is NO lubrication for a PTO, regardless if it is NF or WF, Mechanical or Electric.

Personally, I'd just replace the bearing....I've been known to regrease bearings but not this one.

Not familiar with your PTO. But a ball bearing can be re-lubed by using a Diabetic syringe filled with grease, injected under the seal lip.
Been doing it on old farm machinery for over 60 years. And the PTO bearings on my cubs. Yep I'm thrifty and it works. :beerchug: |
Thanks ol' George.
