Shop wall art

I’ve had a lot of free time this year so I’ve been working in the shop more. I built a new clock for the shop with a 24” gear that was scrapped at work. The wood between the spokes is tongue and groove cedar. I hand made the numbers from copper wire.

Yesterday, I made a skull and crossbones from an old K301 piston and valves.

What have you guys made for your shops?

That clock is awesome. May have to put that one in the memory bank for
one of these days. Lately all I have made is a mess. Nice job

Should really think about stuff like that. I got more than enough pistons and valves from junk pushmower engines I've taken apart, the skull and crossbones is a great idea.

Although I may be behind on shop wall art, I do have a pretty odd yard ornament :bigthink:

What an excellent way to repurpose old machinery parts. I really like the way the gear on the beautiful steampunk clock is preserved thus maintaining originality of the part as much as possible.

I guess the Kohler suffered a mechanical death?:biggrin2:

The clock is clever and cool with the six spokes. Very nice work. And the piston, like all good art, is definitely telling a story. Not a happy one either.

Thanks guys.
I had thought about building a table out of the gear, but I really don’t have room or need for another table.
The piston and valves came from the K301 I rebuilt for my 100. I dug them out of the scrap bucket.

Very nice! I don’t have any wall art yet, but I want to make something. I have enough parts laying around, I just haven’t thought of what to make.
