Rattle Can Yellow for Cub 149

I am re-doing my Cub 149 and used Magic rattle can Cub Yellow from Tractor Supply on my frame. I absolutely will not use it again. Paint is too soft and takes forever to dry. I bought a can of rust-oleum Gloss Marigold and sprayed my Hydro Pump and Cylinder with it. Went on well and dried fast. Pretty sure it will be a hard finish. Looked a little lighter in color than the Magic paint. Has any one used it on their Tractor? Also saw a Rust-oleum Yellow Eq. Catipaller rattle can spray paint. Any one used this and if so, how does it compare color wise to the Cub Yellow spray can from a Cub Cadet dealer? Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for your help. Have a great day.

I know where you are coming from with the majic brand paint.

In addition, I have found that Rust-Oleum paints are pretty good. However as J-Mech said, Cub Cadet paint is guaranteed to match. I use paint from the Case IH dealer. It's high quality stuff made by Valspar. I buy it buy the gallon and keep a couple spray cans of each color for touch-ups.

Rattle Can Yellow Paint

Thanks for the reply's. At $17.00 a can at my local Cub Dealer, Just can't afford it. I am doing a make over and not a restore as everything will not be as it came from the Factory. I envy those that can do a total restore. Beautiful Tractors.
Have a great day.

Not sure if this matches the old yeller or new? But a good deal on good paint.:beerchug:

For what it's worth... In my area I have found spray paint at the Cub CADET dealers is in that $17 range, but at the IH dealers it is around $10...

Good luck,

The Valspar paint takes A LONG TIME to dry. Weeks,3-4. I did a 46" deck using the IH white. Great paint though, excellent coverage, doesn't run, and once dried it seems like it will take some abuse.

Cheap and dry's fast, just take a chip and they will match the color. Don't need no stinkin gun, a brush or roller and your good to go. :biggrin2:

Sam Mac,
I would never use a brush or roller on my tractor. I'm from Wv. but I have my limits. Don't know if you are joking or not but no problem either way. Have a great day.

I was just goofing. I tend to have a twisted sense of humor. If it's after 5:00PM all bets are off. :beer2::beerchug::beer2::beerchug::biggrin2::bigth ink:

Brushes and rollers are for detailed work, a mop is what real men use to paint things!:biggrin2:
