Zoysia Grass Fertilizer

I've Zoysia grass in my yard. Does anyone have recommendations on what type of fertilizer to use? I have read that this type of grass needs high levels of Potassium but most of the products like Scotts seem to be high nitrogen fertilizers.
Do places like Home Depot sell fertilizers that would be higher in potassium?

Don't waste your time and money with anything from the box stores. There stuff is complete garbage.

I'm not sure where you are in NY but this type of place is where you want to get all of your outdoor supplies at. + the people that work there know there stuff not like the idiots at the box stores.

While oak is correct, one can't expect an hourly employee
to be an educated individual on all things especially like a turf grass specialist would be.
In todays world a google search would prolly provide more useful information.

But do know a soil sample it the real way to go so one does not over fertilize of one nutrient and under fertilize with another.
Your basic nutrients of NP and K are the staples but micronutrients are also valuable when dealing with certain soils as well as lime to get the soil PH correct if needed.
If your ph is incorrect some nutrients cannot be utilized by the plant.
One of the biggest polluters of lakes/streams is not agriculture, but over fertilization of unneeded nutrients from residential lawns and golf courses.
That is a proven fact.
The other big polluters are waste water treatment plants.
Daddy always said "drink up stream from the heard" :biggrin2:

George is 100% correct....again.:biggrin2:

Take a few samples of your soil to the county extension office and they will test it for free or a small charge. That way you will know what nutrients your soil and grass will need. Zoysia is beautiful grass. I have a small patch of it between my house and garage and it is like walking on carpet in the summer time.
