Tractor clean up

Soon I'm going to start taking the 1250 apart, I'm planning on cleaning everything, frame, transmission, engine, the whole ballpark. Anyway, what's the best product to use for degreasing these parts? I'm not planning on repainting the tractor as it's in good shape already, so what do you guys suggest?

I’ve had good luck with Engine Brite. Just make sure you follow the directions properly and the results are good.

I like purple power. I put it in a pump sprayer. Spray on dry. Scrub and rinse. Read the caution label before using.

Simple Green is good too.

I like it too but as stated read the directions for diluting. I didn’t dilute enough of the Zep prurple brand and it completely ate off the black and IH portion of the data tag of my 800.

I’ve used the foamy engine Brite on my trucks diesel before and got it warm then used it and seemed to work better that way.

X-2 for the Simple Green, and I add a pressure washer to that. And I'm not getting into the do's and don'ts of it. Use your head, common sense, and you'll be good.

I've had experience doing that before... Took the color out of my decals and the white off my grille IH logo. Even started taking some of the paint off, too. Ours is mixed about 1 water/100 parts purple power.

I think I'll use brake cleaner to get the oil, grime, and dirt off. That's the beauty of the whole tractor being steel, you don't have to worry about destroying any plastic!
