How about a picture of this motor?

Maybe you need a "Point saver" ignition box on it. I hear they fix all sorts of issues......

The two carbs don't exhibit EXACTLY the same condition - but it's similar.

Here's a pic of the carb that's on the motor now:

Here's the motor as a whole:

No, the filthy carb is not the one I just rebuilt. It's the one that was on the chipper and I just unbolted and moved over. I haven't touched this one in any way other than unbolting it from the chipper and bolting it to the vacuum. With how temperamental these junk flo-jet carbs are, washing the dirt off would probably make it come apart and never work right again.

As for vibrations, when it's sputtering and trying to keep running at low RPM, there's some decent vibration, but when it's running all out, there isn't any major vibration to speak of. It's bolted tight to the tongue of the trailer.

J-Mech - no points on this one, so even if the transdenser was a 1000 fold improvement over a condenser, it would do zero good on this motor. :Shame: At any rate, the transdenser does what it's meant to do, so lets leave it at that :beatdeadhorse:.

What a dirty motor!
Is this gas tank the type with the foam in it to keep the gas from sloshing around?
If you removed it then that may be an issue.

The motor isn't nearly as dirty as the carb - most of what you see on the motor is dust it collected when I was last trying to vacuum up leaves as it had been hosed off prior. As for the foam question, as far as I know, no, there was no foam in it. If there was, the previous owner removed it - not I.

Well, it worked fine yesterday with the filthy carb from the chipper. It was mostly stationary, not pulling it around while mowing/vacuuming like before, since the CC started throwing the belt off the deck (might just be the belt needs to be replaced, but I haven't started looking at that yet), but when I did move it from spot to spot, it didn't seem to have any issues. So there must be something with the original carb that is horribly wrong and wasn't fixed with all new parts. Maybe I should just buck up and get a new Briggs carb. But they sure are proud of it.
