My new 73!
6 Attachment(s)
Just went to pick up William1041200's Haban sickle and look what jumped into the trailer:beer2: This one has a rebuilt engine and a brand new wire harness:bigeyes:. Creeper, fenders and seat isn't cracked. I do need an air cleaner and muffler. Has a good gas leak at the top of sediment bowl, hopefully not the tank leaking. The hood support was broken so PO did an allthread contraption, but Eric(NHIRONWORKS) hooked me up with a 125 hood which is the same, Thanks Eric!!! Supposed to be 47 and sunny here tomorrow, will get it out in the sun and clean her up a bit!!

|
Thanks Guys!! It is a nice addition to the fleet. I found several issues with it today but I'm working them out right now. Got the gas leak figured out, it's the tank:angry: I'll need to rebraze it. I have another tank I'm getting ready to put on it. Trying to fix problems and get her back together:beerchug:
|
Nice 73 Jude! I like that it has fenders and creeper.
|
Congratulations Jude! Youre gonna need to build a garage addition, or a second level or something! :beerchug:
|
Jude, you dog:beer2: I'm hoping you never find your way here to WI. Cause if you do, I'll be sittin' here on my porch, with a plug between my cheek and gum, with my sawed off shotgun by my side.
Cause you ain't buyin' up my cubs. Congrats. on your new addition:beerchug: happy for you. By the way, how big is your toy box anyway?? |

Thanks again guys:beerchug: LOL zippy, you crack me up:biggrin2:
I've been working all day on this little beauty. It needed alot of tlc, so many little things screwed up on it. But I finally got it buttoned back up and she starts right up, although the choke needs to be closed. It does run real well and throttles up nicely, even with choke closed. Throttle shaft may need bushing to cure issue. Is there a trick to using a new cork gasket on sediment bowl?? I put a new one on and it leaks, tightned it down good and still leaks:bash2:. Fixed the headlight panel, no headlight in it cause bracket bolts were messed up. Fixed that and put new bulbs and switch in. Fired it up and the headlights work nicely:biggrin2:. Still need a rear Grote. |
bowl,
the store by me sells a rubber gasket for the sediment bowl......but to be honest, they have new aftermarket ones that look just like the originals and they are like $12.......easy and new !!!
|
Jude,
The trick is the cork gasket goes OVER the screen, heheheheh.Really the glass bowl should be centered on the housing or,you may have a nick in the edge of the glass bowl.Rubber ones suck.I have a Grote light for sale in the selling section. |

|
Dang jude why can't I find a deal like that on a 73?!?!

The 73 looks awesome, Jude! Sorry to hear abut your rent going up.

What was that 782/784 you've been working on??? :) |
Jude,
You might try taking the sediment bowl completely off and apart. Check the seating of the cork gasket. It should pop in to the upper ring to be seated correctly. I use my finger and run around it to be sure that it is seated firmly, then I put the glass on it upside down. Also, check the clips on the band and make sure that they are seated into the grooves on the top part of the sediment bowl. You have probably already done that, but I didn't think it would hurt to mention it just in case. BTW: It cleaned up very nicely. That is one that has got some good original paint, I don't think I would repaint that one. PS> Sorry to hear about the rent increase, but I believe that it may open doors for you and the market for buying houses in my area is great, so maybe you will become a new homeowner soon!!! Best wishes there.... Cub Cadet 123 |
