Starting the 'O'
It was a truly beautiful day here yesterday, sunny and 67. I decided to get the cubs out to breathe a little....
I opened the gas, pulled the choke and that little 7HP started right up on the first crank after sitting since the end of October. :biggrin2: Pretty cool. Didn't have to worry about jumping it or anything. The 127 I'm going to have to look into a little.... |
Its always amazing to me how these Kohlers fire right up after sitting all winter:ThumbsUp:My 106 sat since about july,i had to jump it but it fired right up.
|
ya, I had already got the booster out and ready... It's just amazing to see that thing after 49 years and looks like nothing outside of a muffler done to it just fire up so so easy. :)

I hear ya, Gary! That's cause it's a good ole Cub Cadet! :IH Trusted Hand:

Duke,
I was mainly trying to satisfy a 16 month old who's bound and determined to be outside as much as he can. I just had them pulled out of the garage enough to get the exhaust out. The problem is Wyatt, my youngest, wants the 'O' which belongs to Owen, the 5 year old.... Owen would rather be on the GT2544 since it's got the blade.... so I don't know if that's a good problem to have or not. :) |

Here's you a couple quick snaps of "nothing"... The way I figure it I can go 3 wide on each side to fill up the front nice. :) I'm going to start my search around April again. I've really got my fingers crossed about a good 149, but I dunno yet....

Sweet Gary!! I have to do a vid of my O' on start up. She starts unbelievably quick! Very nice cubs Gary.

The 149 is my wife's grandfather... He's still got the receipts! He's 89 and age/COPD is starting to get to him.... There's just not too good blood between his wife and my MIL, so who knows. He's also got a spirit of '76 cub and a early 2000's wheel horse. Anything but the junk yard!!!
Sminkey - I've got a bunch of vids of my 'O' and it's progress I went through, the guys on here helped me a ton. I had a clutch issue from the beginning and a few other things. the O is loud!! www.youtube.com/gcbailey34 Duke, here in a while start keeping your eyes open once I get my "mowing" money. I don't think I'll mind going up I-77 with a cub, I just don't know if I want to go all the way back up to NY. :) Next time up there is going to be pleasure only, unless Teet finds me something real good. :) |

Your always welcome (and anyone else on OOC) to contact me any time! I'll do my best to hook you up! |
Gary,
Nice cubs! Yesterday got up to 60 degrees here (almost a record high!) and I got my 129 out to wash in preparation for the loader. Looks like you've got plenty of room for more cubs. I, too am sorry to hear about your wife's family. Would be nice for you to eventually get the 149 and keep it in the family. Quick question: Is the 127 nervous?? Looks like it had an accident of the floor of the garage underneath it (Cub yeller) :biggrin2:. |
hahaha.... I was wondering if anyone would notice.... now you see where I did some parts painting last fall. :)

you'd actually be surprised the grief I took over that from other guys... My garage while small, is a working garage... maybe one day I'll have one of those pretty painted floors, but you see how it would end up! :)
I appreciate the offer Duke... I've said it before, but this forum does have more members that's willing to go out of their way for people they've never met face to face!! :beerchug::beerchug: |
Hey Gary,
When I bought my place, the detached garage had the nice painted floor with specks in it. Now I have shades of yeller and red and the PO must not have cleaned the floor very well because it coming up in some places. I agree with your statement that it is a working garage. Mine is too. I would never paint the floor again. I just touch it up with fall colors, reds, yellows, etc. every once in a while:HeadScratch::HeeHee:. Atleast the paint washes off my hands:biggrin2:. |
I hear ya... at least I was smart enough to drape plastic over everything inside and back the vehicles waaaay back. The guy who taught me how to paint told me a story of the first time he painted something small with his garage doors shut, he thought, no big deal... He noticed a "green fog" and never gave it a second thought. The next morning everything in his garage had a permanent green tint.
