Thanks all for the warm welcome! I'm in Murray. Here is a picture of a current project:
http://i55.tinypic.com/v8jyah.jpg I got this a week ago. Tractor is pretty nice. It was repowered with a 14HP Kohler. Kohler is a black replacement engine. It's probably not very old. 2 days ago I met a Cubbie off another Forum in Southern MO. I bought an original 10hp pulled from a 105. He also had a painted hood. Last I bought a 7hp pulled from a 73. My brother has my late fathers 73. It has a replacement 8hp. We wore the 8hp out and it needs rebuilding. I am excited to find a correct engine for it and seeing it back running. I like seeing all your Cub Cadets and learning about them. My brother and I have 9. Some are parts and I do some trading. We been dragging these out of the weeds and saved a few from scrap. All are narro frames. Oneday I'll find a good wideframe. Currently looking for a 147 or 149. See how it goes. I just missed a 147 with tiller for 300. Oh well. Thanks again!! Michael Hale |

Welcome Mike! I'm on the Tenntucky line close to I-65. Do a lot of trade'n and selling from the Bluegrass State and most thankful! Had a buyer from Metcalfe County back a few years ago pick up a 61 Original I found for him. Mr. Fred Young drummer for the Kentucky Headhunters has a large collection of vintage lawn and garden tractors, big and small! Always a great visit when we get to meet ! Be advised these lttle yeller&white and sometimes red tractors are habit forming!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I picked up a 72 with hydrolic lift and spring assist. It's gonna be a nice tractor to restore! As soon as I get some funds I got so trading to do! I'm trading for a frame for my 105. Once I get the frame I'll swap them out and put the 10hp in it. Then all I'll need is a correct seat! To make it back original! I'm also trading a Case for a 147. Thats where my 14hp will go. I don't have room for the 147 so it's goin to my brothers to be his tiller tractor. I think I'll hold off on any more cubs!! Now I have too many to restore!! I am excited about the 72! Never had one with a hydrolic lift!!
Thanks again!! Michael |
