New Ags and Weights Pic

This is my sons 149. He got these brand new 23x10.50x12 ag tires from a small local tire dealer for 15 bucks for the pair. They were NOS tires that had been in their inventory for years and they just wanted to get rid of them.

He placed an ad on CL for some weights and got a call from a guy who had these 55lbs. weights. The guy told him they were taking up space in his shed and he could have them for free. How lucky can you get?

What area of Georgia are you living in?
I'm a lifetime resident in Carrollton.
Sounds like you have my brother's good fortune and people just give things to you, I'm not that lucky.

I live in Lavonia (N.E.Georgia) but lived most of my life down south near Americus same county as Jimmy Carter.

My 109 the Wheelhorse and most of our finds come from around Anderson S.C.. as my son lives over there. Hope this dont offend anyone but i hate S.C. with a passion. There is lots of good finds over there because i think there must be some state law that says if you live in S.C. you have to have lots of junk. That is the junkiest place in the world. Its like going to a third world country.

Got my 26x12x12's cause my gf liked to hit yard sales, one sat. she called me an said she found some bar tires. She read off the size and a $40 price tag. I told her to offer 30and be ready to walk away. She called back a couple minutes later and said the guy wouldn't drop the price but he would throw in anouther set of 10.50 23 mounted on (she said) good looking cub rims. Sold. Turned out the guy was a puller bought these to try them and didn't like them, they only had half a dozen pulls on them. I'd still be with that woman if we didn't have to live together.
Them wheels and wieghts look good, should last a good long time.

Deal of the century!

Question...off topic a little...Do Ags leave any marks in the yard when you turn? I'm thinking of getting ags for my tractor but don't want the possibility of messing up the yard. I have a steep hill in the back yard and the 1450 does alot of climbing and get stuck sometimes. Ags will add traction.

YMMY...what does it mean?

aagitch 05-28-2009 10:18 AM

I've never noticed my ags leaving marks or damage to the lawn.

I'd rather not have turf tires on any of my Cubs. The ags may leave marks for a short time, but not permanantly and you actually have less change of tearing up or scuffing turf with the ags vs. turf tires.

I have ags on both my mowing tractors. And they are loaded to give it more grip. They will help keep you from spinning out. But if a turf tire spins out it just leaves a little burn looking mark on the grass. If you are on enough of a hill to make a ag tire spin you are going to remove some sod and a little dirt as well. I have never had this problem except pulling my big yard roller. Tried to go up the slope in front of the house and spun it out. Had to do a little patch there. As far as just mowing i love the grip i get compaired to turf tires. Just my :TwoCents:
