I will take a pic tomorrow of my 102 since it needs one of the lights replaced, just burned out yesterday after I replaced the other. But, I am thinking about adding an additional set of lights as well for winter when doing snow removal in the dark.

Not quite what i would have done, but the '61 Chevy pickup truck backup lights are not all that bad. i'll put an original grille back in it when i get to restoring it in the spring.

Sminkey 10-15-2010 03:57 PM

It is a Peterson,Has the same bulb as the headlights.I prolly going to replace due to all of them together max out the s/g output.I am going to mount this one instead. For a little 4 watt bulb, this puts out a lot of light. It has a lens on it like on a lighthouse lens...Made by Yankee Turnflex.

Haha That's awesome!

nickvanorman 10-21-2010 04:38 PM

here are the lights on my 122. factory head lights just weren't bright enough. took the broken grote light off of the back and wired in a set of tractor lights to the light switch. Man are they bright! no more guessing where the steps are plowing snow this winter. :biggrin2.gif::biggrin2.gif::biggrin2.gif:

Halogen Tractor Head light Bulbs

This is my 1450 equipped with GE H7606 Halogen Tractor Head light Bulbs. I also add a flasher unit and harness off an old Combine so when my lights are on the rear tail lights blink.

ACecil 10-23-2010 04:21 PM

Looks great, Steve! :beerchug:

steve59 10-23-2010 04:34 PM

Thanks Allen. GE says these are 33% brighter than regular bulbs and the flashing rears ARE SO COOL!!
It's kind of hard to see but my 122 is sitting next to the 1450 all covered up for a long winters nap!!

Here's my 73 lit up for the first time in it's life!!! I've been working on getting it ready for snow duty. I've had the lights in there since spring, but couldn't get them to work with the fuse, so I bypassed the fuse for now until I can figure out why it doesn't work....otherwise, it will be an expensive fix if there is a short!!! Great lit up tractors fellas!!! It would be neat to see 9 tractors hooked up to a sleigh this winter as a yard display.........and of course the first one would need a bright red light on it's front!!!

Can one of my fellow 123 owners show me a pic of how the lights mount from the engine side ive got the plate made (not cutting original metal on the only 123 in OZ :biggrin2.gif: ) Just need to cut the holes but would like to know how the factory mounted them

Cheers in advance

Sorry, can't help ya out there OZCUB, I'm sure someone has 123 that can help ya out. Here's a pic of my O' with some $5 lights I got:biggrin2.gif:

ACecil 12-09-2010 11:17 PM

Your Original looks great with the lights.

Cub Cadet 123 12-09-2010 11:57 PM

OZCUB,

Sorry, I am miles away from my cubs and will be for a while as it is the nature of my work. I can tell you that on my 123 the bottom of the light plate has a very slight curve to it and the plate is held on with 4 corner plates that are cut on diagonals (they look like small isosceles trapezoids). The lights themselves are held in by two rings that have equal diameters to the lights but that have a have smaller circular ring that fits snuggly (sp?) into the circles cut into the headlight panel. On the back of the lights is another ring that is keyed to fit the back raised rectangular region that is molded on the backside of the light. In these rings that fit on the back are two holes that allow it to slide onto the two long threaded rods that come out of the back of the headlight mounting plate. These threaded rods are diagonal of each other, two flanking the upper sides, left and right, of the regulator and the other two in the lower corners of the mounting plate.

Sorry that this is generic, there might be a picture in the technical library. I will try to remember to get some pics for you next time I'm around my 123.

DieselCrawler 12-10-2010 09:56 AM

thats one thing i still gota work out. the grill surround tabs are broken off. thinking about getting another grill and just filling the entire surround with the grill and putting teardrop lights on the outside of the surround. just gota find small ones.
