Thanks for sharing, Terry!

In my mind, I was thinking, They would have rebuilt one of the old models, Not rebuilt, But made it look like one, Because It's not like, having an airodynamic front end is going to help at 8 miles an hour... just not...

I'm not sure

All I can say is I'm disappointed, it's got that flimsy front end design. Ugh!

:censored: :Choke: :HeadScratch: :ScrewLoose:   :Unknown:

What are they thinking!???

SAD!!! I'd have to say that is a VERY poor attempt at an anniversary tractor. I agree, I would have thought they may have styled it at least a little off the old original styles in the first say 10 years?? Heck, even Chevrolet even figured that out with there new cars......at least they made them sort of sporty compared to the originals? Not that a Cub is going to be sporty..but come on!! I think my dog & cat could have thrown their ideas together and come up with a better design than that!!!

I REALLY think they should have commissioned some of the old design team from Cub Cadet to design this edition - it would have been MUCH better!

FOOLS!

Methos 09-28-2010 10:55 AM

Thanks for posting Terry!

I was hoping for more of a retro look myself.

ACecil 09-28-2010 04:27 PM

I'll stick with my IH built Cub Cadet 100! :IH Trusted Hand:

ihnick 09-28-2010 04:57 PM

that is ugly. they should of did like what you guys are saying and made it like a old one. like what new holland did with the boomer 8n tractor or something like that anyway

Eagle Keeper 09-28-2010 06:04 PM

Get the raid, there is an ugly bug in the garage !!! Pitiful............. A real Cub doesn't need a bumper !

Mountain Heritage 09-28-2010 09:08 PM

I agree with Eagle Keeper..... What is with all the box stores putting bumpers on their tractors? I see a lot of them around here with them on....people that bad of drivers? OMG! And these people drive cars & trucks down the roads? No wonder mothers pull their kids off the streets at certain times of the day! :HeadScratch:

I said it before......SAD!!!! Very poor effort/attempt at a 50th Anniversary tractor.

Yes, New Holland did a WAY better job than Cub Cadet did that is for sure.

Oak 09-28-2010 10:50 PM

$6k for a tractor that looks like half of it is plastic with an air cooled motor. I thought they would have done better. I like the looks of the 40th year tractor better.

I think this is it.

ihnick 09-28-2010 11:15 PM

i wish most of my cubs had rear bumpers on them before i got them. i think my 1650 is the only one that doesnt have dents in the fenders from the POs. i dont understand how people back into stuff mowing???

Mountain Heritage 09-29-2010 07:04 AM

:HeadScratch:

Too lazy to turn around??? BAD DRIVERS!! :biggrin2.gif:

It is terrible the way some people treat their equipment though. I mean its not a bull dozer people that is clearing a path through a bush. Last time I checked Cub Cadet didn't sign on with the builder of Sherman Tanks either???

So just wondering....does anyone know who designed this "great anniversary edition"?? Was it Cub Cadet themselves or did they put it out to the public? How come they didn't call on Myron, Rolland or Matt, to dig through their stash of knowledge and reference books to come up with a "New Generation" Cub?? Does it at least have a cheesey plastic emblem on it saying its a 50th Anniversary Edition? Let me guess....its probably chrome too if there is one?

T-Mo 09-29-2010 07:15 AM

About the only thing I can see that may be called "improvement" is the fabricated deck. But, the only reason why manufacturers of commercial equipment use fabricated decks is that they don't want to spend the money in buying a big enough press to make stamped decks in the thicker gauge steels. It would take a tremendous force to stamp 7 gauge metal, so they "fabricated" the decks by welding. Which creates seams to rust, right angle pockets where grass can build up. So even the fabricated deck may not be an improvement.

BTW, only John Deere has a large enough press to make stamped decks in 7 gauge metal - which they do for their commercial decks. They call their commercial decks "7 Iron" because of the stamped 7 gauge decks.

Mountain Heritage 09-29-2010 08:39 AM

Would it be bad taste to e-mail Cub Cadet telling them how crappy of a job they did?

JayBrd 09-29-2010 08:46 AM

I have to agree with the sad end of it. At least a MTD "attempt" at even a slight retro look would have been OK. I guess you can look at it at the 50yr anniversary of the cub cadet name?

I think I'd rather stick that kind of money into an IH built cub cadet and end up with a tractor :biggrin2.gif:

Eagle Keeper 09-29-2010 10:04 AM

Email Cub Cadet,,,I have been doing it for years. No response. We are conceived as a small sector of their business . Years ago I was in the final steps of opening a Cub Dealership in Lakeville NY. The day I was supposed to sign the papers the company rep says, I have good news here is a brochure for our new line-up of tractors. It was the 2000 series. I walked out the door and have been hoping for Change,,,Did I say that ? Wash my mouth out with soap. As far as the design team for the 50 yr model ,,,, I heard it was a bunch of Chrysler workers on their lunch break. Also incorporated in the green model is a Stirling powered model that runs on Global warming, Rubber mower deck blades, so they won't hurt the grass, Front, rear, side Airbags. Breathalyzer blow tube to prevent mowing with a beer and a alpha wave detector that engages the autopilot when you have negative thoughts and drives you to the nearest reprogramming facility ....:Unknown:

Too funny Eagle Keeper! You know....what you say is likely VERY true! :biggrin2.gif:

Noticed no hydraulic lift - probably because they don't offer the BDU-21, just the BDU-10 transmission.

gcbailey 10-22-2010 09:11 AM

Is that paint scheme for the 50th anniversary models only? Like on the 3000 40th? Or is all hoods going to be 2 tone?

ACecil 10-23-2010 09:50 AM

I totally agree, Bill.

IAfarmer 10-25-2010 05:34 PM

This is why my main mower is now an X700 Deere. I needed a newer mower (6 acres to mow) that my wife and kids could just jump on and run without too much trouble. I love the old rigs, but my wife does not.

After looking at how flimsy and cheap the new CC are, I had no choice but to buy the X700.

MTD, if you are listening, I really had a hard time with that choice, but my money went with Deere. Granted, it was twice the money, but it was 3 times the tractor. IT will also still be around to sit with my 782, 1450 and SO76 10 years from now.

steve59 10-25-2010 09:06 PM

Looks like another poorly built "home owner" special from Lowes or Home Depot to me.
IH knew how to build garden tractors......I'll stick with my 122 and 1450!!

ACecil 10-25-2010 10:04 PM

I agree with you, Steve! I'll also stick with my 100!

dcubfan 10-27-2010 11:12 PM

50th ann. cadet

I too was so hoping for the anniversary model to be somewhat retro. But to be honest it looks about like what I thought it would. Oh well, it just makes me appreciate all of our old ones that much more!!!!

Just mowed the grass the other day with a '67 125 and it looked pretty dang good!

Wonder how many people will be saying that about these new ones in 40 years? http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/i...ons/icon10.gif

plummcrazy1864 10-28-2010 09:16 PM

U think MTD would have done a better job than this. Make a well built good lookin tractor to celibate 50 years.... But no we get a spruce up version of the cheap crap their putting out now. Thanks but no thanks . Give it a BIG THUMBS DOWN:ThumbsDown::ThumbsDown::ThumbsDown:
