401 Haban question

Was the Haban 401, only available for SGT's?

Or was it an option on the GT's also, say a 782 or 18XX?

Farmall450 02-19-2026 11:10 PM

The blade? Supers AFAIK

finsruskw 02-20-2026 08:51 AM

Simple chore.....

Pull up your Cub, or whatever one you want on the parts lookup site.

Click on the attachment section and scroll down to see what options were available for that machine

Yes I was referring to the Haban 401 blade.

I've only ever seen them on supers, expect once on 782, I'll post pictures of it in a few minutes.

I did that, I looked up available attachments for a 782. I only saw a 42" snow blade #375, and 54" snow blade #376 as being available. The Haban #401 was not listed.

Here is a 782 that was at a local consignment auction a few years ago, it had a Haban #401 on it. It looked factory to me, if not who ever fabricated it to fit did a nice job.

Are you saying the Cub Cadet parts lookup shows NON IH/MTD attachments?

finsruskw 02-20-2026 12:06 PM

Sure does!
Here's what was available for the 1872's

Looks nice, but I doubt it's original.

Grandpa53 02-21-2026 06:53 AM

The 401(190-401-100) blade was manufactured by Haban and sold as a genuine OEM Cub Cadet attachment by Cub Cadet dealers. Hence the reason for showing in the attachment list.

ironman 02-21-2026 08:32 AM

That makes sense. But confusion occurs if you have a Haban 401 but don't know the Cub model number you flounder. (or at least I was confused)

i.e. if you enter 190-401-100 in the Model search block, it brings up the 401 54" plow,
but if you enter just 401 it does not.

As were many other pieces of equipment known as "Allied Equipment"
Many of which are shown Oscar Will's book, "50 Years of Cub Cadet"

I have a binder somewhere with all the cyclops allied equipment. Some of that stuff I've never seen IRL.

I'm going to go talk to the Cub dealer where that 782 was sold new. I'll get to the bottom of the mystery if they retrofitted it. I've meaning to go over there anyways, to do a little picking of their old parts inventory.

Sorry for the confusion, I had assumed everyone knew what a Haban 401 was. Next time I will be more clear, with the complete part number, when asking questions.

ironman 02-21-2026 05:27 PM

Not to apologize. It's Cubs way to irritate by giving their own numbers.
Like if you bought a Chevy truck with Goodyear tires but GM says they equip their trucks with p/n 69521 Ground Contact Units.

Does it really matter?

The Cub Cadet website confirms the blade options were either 42" or 54" (375 or 376).

Seems it would be easy to chop the subframe to make it fit.
