Future of OCC is at stake folks!
I put an announcement up a while back about Angie needing some help with expenses.
Needless to say the $33.00 was not exactly what we expected. SIGH!!!! The donation button is at the top of every page. That being said, since I've been nominated to take things over after Roland's passing, something I wasn't really looking to do, but Angie needed a hand in her time of need. I have a few options for everyone to think about. 1. Get some dough coming in to make sure OCC stays as it is with hopefully getting an upgrade to make it more user friendly for cell phones. 2. Shut the site down for future posting and use it as an information only site. 3. Sell it and relieve everyone of any responsibility and make sure Angie gets taken care of, cause God knows, she's been thru enough already! 4. Selling would mean ads and possibly a change in format, but it would still be available to use as normal. The choice is yours folks. I'll make a decision very shortly depending on how things go. |
What are the per annum costs associated with maintaining the forum . I am only to pleased to kick in some money but would like to know the costs so I can factor in my contribution
Also how can I donate from Downunder Oz |
Cost

With hosting and others things along the way, and with the update that really needs to take place for cell users the first go round will be around 2500.00. After that about 250 to 500 a year. |
Well I just gave $50 to get it started.
If everyone that I have helped just gave a dollar, we should be good. Hell I've given enough laughs for that.:biggrin2: |

Well, I can vouch for getting my moneys worth from Ole George shortly after joining here.
And several other members with a priceless amount of knowledge have contributed to my Cub ownership journey. :beerchug: So I guess I better pony up some too. Canadian pesos don’t go as far though. |
Every bit helps keep the lights on I donated here today
Forums Like Red square ask for a $25.00 Yearly Simple tractors $20.00 Yearly MTF I Think it is $30 something Yearly Green Tractor Talk I Think it is $30 something Yearly Weekend freedom machine again I Think it is $30 something Yearly Unofficial Cub Cadet site has several different levels of Donation Monthly, Yearly or a one time $150 donation If everyone donated $20 US Today That's 125 Members to make Up for the Back dues for the site Plus another 25 Members that would cover the Yearly fees I think Digger said it was $400 or $500 yearly fee to the hosting company There are 502 active Members Here |

Done as well. I know that this site has helped me and hundreds of others so a small price to pay for so much free knowledge in the past and moving forward. Let’s keep it going!

Contribution sent! Good Luck and please keep us updated!
|
Done as well.

Cost me $70 Canadian pesos to match ol'George's $50 USD, but still a bargain!
Especially for a guy like me that still can't figure how to ID Cubs by serial number. :bash2: |
I thank you for matching me.
We all have been lucky , I really wonder what it cost Roland to keep things running? But any donation I'm sure will help as we know. It always has been rewarding helping ppl out here And i learn things also. Yes we have folks that just want their lawnmower questions answered that happens on all forums But there are those who decide to hang out. Hope we can save that. |

It's saved man! There will be an announcement in the very near future! We're still a little short of our goal, money wise. But we'll give'um a little more time to come thru. I have faith in this great group of people. :beerchug: |
GREAT!!!
Now lets PM our friends here explaining the situation if they don't already know, even the cost of a coffee or beer sent in, can keep the monkeys fed. :biggrin2: |

I'm sure there is something to be done with advertising on here that could balance a monthly budget. :bigthink: |

Donation sent, thank you for all the hard work in keeping this alive.
I think the future of OCC will be best served by moving to a platform that supports mobile. I would much rather bring conversation and new users here than Facebook, but the barrier to entry is in the interface. Again, thanks for all you do. |

Did ya read my post? ;-) |

I matched Georges $50.00.
|
most defiantly
As John Wayne used to say ,,
I'll pony up !! :beerchug: |
Just a thought
Leave the donation button up and run a yearly fund raiser.
or Set a 5 year goal and start a go fund me page. It's a great story and some people like to donate to a good cause. |
And Angie appreciates ya too! Thanks again man! ;-)

Digger , so how is the Forum going , income/donations $ V expenditure $ , what does the balance sheet look like ?
Going forward what are the next steps ? Oz |
It's not a big deal to set up monthly donation to OCC through Paypal. I've been sending one to Roland (his daughter now) for $4.00 US since April 2020. It's ongoing and it adds up. I figure it's money well spent to keep this resource going. Something that I have benefited from and have enjoyed the feedback from fellow members, many of which that I admire.

Everything is moving along just fine. The new owner will be posting as soon as the deal is completely said and done. It's all going to work out just fine. |
