1450 is now mine!!
4 Attachment(s)
just got home with it. i didn't get to mess with it any in the garage, i will do that this weekend. there is a BIG difference in gear and hydro. almost like stick shift car to automatic. i almost jerked a crick in my neck trying to figure it out. don't push the brake to engage the forward motion and lean forward when you mash it to the "floor". i think i'm gonna like this thang. thanks guys for all the comments, suggestions, and info!!!!! jeff

Congrats
Good luck with it !!! I like the looks of that machine.

I like that steering wheel better than my older style. Great looking tractor.

Great looking 1450. Looks like you need a seat cover. I bought one of these for mine.

Yep, me neither. If everything is adjusted right, you don't need brakes. I never touch it except to start the engine.

Jeff,
Good deal! Looks like you have one in good shape to start with a little TLC and a good cleaning she will sparkle as much as the grin on your face.:beerchug: |
i realize that a QL is supposed to have the side panels, but is it just me or what. i do not like them. i was looking at them today and they reminded me of a pregnant lawn mower. i like the look of the motor being visible, i guess it kinda gives it the "big" tractor look. my wife has claimed this one as hers and she likes the pregnant look (on the lawnmower, not her) so i guess i will leave them. but they're still ugly!!! jeff

New owner of a 1450 also!
Hi guys,
wondering what is the best oil to use for my new/old 1450? I find it starts hard and would like to do a tune up but not sure wha plug to use and filter??? Have been looking on line but having problems??? Denis |

I've started using Rotella 30 wt. There isn't a better plug then the Autolite 216.

I thought the same thing, until I finished my restoration. Once they're painted and have new decals, they really look sharp. |
eric, it looks like my wife will be taking over 1450 as her own. so, i(we) will be putting the side pregnant covers back on, BUT not just yet though. i will be rebuilding the motor this winter so maybe(i will) next mowing season i'll put them back on. i'm not really wanting to restore any of the ones i have now, i am waiting for that "special" one. like an "O", 70, or 100. it will be the non-hard-working machine for parades and maybe an antique lawn and tractor show. jeff

That's funny, my next resto will be a 70 or 100 also! Just have to find one at the right price. :beerchug:
|
i found a 100 that was up and running. it had a plow and disc harrow, but no deck. i offered him first, a .357, two boxes of shells, and fobus tactical holster then $300 and finally he shot me down. so my search still goes on!! jeff

You guys will love having a 100! :beerchug:
