The 16hp is a single cylinder. Jcrews since you don't need that many I'll help you get rid of a few.

Diz Jr. 05-06-2009 07:37 AM

jcrews,

Nice find

And if i could be the voice of reason, (of course you needed another one) :biggrin2.gif:

jcrews 05-06-2009 09:27 AM

The ONLYsolution to this problem is to give my son Brian one....
But thanks for all the suggestions

Any running Cub Cadet for $200 is hard to pass up, let alone a 1650 !!

Well actually if you notice in my avatar one is in the background a 73 1310 with 76K original miles that my wife would love for me to move out of the driveway .

67hydro 05-07-2009 01:20 AM

76 original miles.....Wow thats amazeing.....with miles like that I wouldnt want to drive it.Thats neat
Jason

jcrews 05-07-2009 09:45 AM

The low miles aren't the problem and it runs like new only it gets about 6 to 8 mpg and so it's not used often but I've about carried 2 tons of carpet it from 2 hours away from me and even in terrain with steep hills where I bought the carpet it carried it down the road no problem going an average 60-65. It has a 40 gallon and a13 gallon gas tank. If the back weren't so high or I made the right ramps it would be a good Cub Cadet hauler but it is a little risky putting a Cub Cadet up there with 8.5 ft. ramps. Maybe using a beefed up tommy lift would do it.

Nice Cub hauler! My travellette is the same color but with a flat finish man I have to get that thing going, I would be one happy camper to have a nice one like that.

Our differences aside, moving forward

I'm in awe of your collection of IH "toys" very nice deal, I have a 1450 that I'm working on as I get time (very little of that). Daddy had a good Kohler 341 on a old snapper ( I think it was the same as a case) that I was amazed at the power. However it needed a good muffler, and it was mounted similar or the same as or IH cubs on the rubber mounts, still it had some shake to it, and all the mounts were in great shape. On the up side, there is a noticeable power increase, not so much in say grass cutting. but when you hook something to the k 341 that's when you know you have a k 341.

You have a great collection, and if you have had to fix all the little quirks that are normal on these, and just normal wear with age that is a huge task

Clint

Cubmonkey 05-09-2009 08:22 PM

:biggrin2.gif:great deal on that 1650.

jcrews 05-09-2009 10:30 PM

Thanks Guys!
If I can't figure out the problem in my post under hot throttle cable I may combine the 1650 with the 1450 sheet metal life is too short and the 1650 can have a quick makeover and if the 1450 is performing like crap it might as well look the part

berryhillbrian 05-11-2009 06:11 PM

That was mine!!! lol

Funny I live in Birmingham Al. I saw this tractor on craigslist and was going to see it when the guy called and told me someone just left and bought it. I was soooo upset!! lol I ended up buying a 1450 and a 105 from Thompson on this site. I did not get them for $200.00 though. These are my first cubs and I am so excited to get to work on them.

jcrews 05-11-2009 07:29 PM

70s model Cub tractor not running but would be nice to restore. They make good pulling tractors because they are shaft drive. Everything is here except the deck. Price is negotiable. Call Ryan 770-853-8023
