Big Red gets a bath

It's not perfect, but after spring servicing (oil/filters/spindle greasing/blade sharpening) it deserved a good bath.

Hard to believe it's been my main mower for 11 yrs now. It still looks pretty good I think.

Very nice 782D!

Ozcub 06-04-2023 03:28 AM

A bit of tyre black would finish it off nicely

I'll do that!

Sorry for being a retard and posting this in the wrong forum.

Maybe someone could nudge it to the CCC section?

Oh man, that's a nice tractor. Did you make that front bumper?

Sweet!

1711Cub 06-04-2023 09:52 PM

No, that is a OEM Cub Cadet accessory front bumper sold in the Cyclops era. MTD part number 190-398-100. Originally painted black, but this one is Cub cream.

Luv it

Great looking 782D!

I’d like to acquire a 782D eventually.

When it is time to purchase one, try to buy one that has had all of the upgrades done properly. When I bought mine, it barely started, had an oil pressure issue, and had all sorts of shady previous repairs done. It has cost thousands to get it right. In the Cub Cadet hobby, they are in a financial league of their own. That's why it is common to see them with asking prices north of $3k.

They were spendy out of the chute too. IIRC they were ~8500$ back in the 80's when new.

That's a whole lot of money even now.

I'll have to settle w/ the 1512 :D
