New to me 1650 & 1st Post

I recently acquired a 1650 that has been sitting in a shed for 15 years. It is a little rough but I got it up and running fairly easy.

I have one problem though, I can't get the pto switch to flip. It looks like you may need to pull it up to flip but it does not move. Before I got crazy and broke something I though I would ask if there is a trick to it.

You should be able to just pull out on the switch and then flip it to engage.

Bob, my 1200 had the same problem because it sat outside for a few years. I sprayed mine down with Kroil and twisted it with pliers to free it up. (the outside of the switch should be able to turn) Then I was able to pull out on the switch and move it up to the "on" position.

Wow. My 1650 PTO switch just flips up and down. You can't pull it out or push it in .

The original PTO simply switched Up and Down to engage or turn off.

I am not a advocate to spraying switches, in that the penetrate, can work it way down and contaminate the internal contacts. If it were me, I would simply change the switch.
