Cadplan loader build - 1512

5 Attachment(s)
Been a busy summer. In the final stage of a loader build for my 1512.

Starting running loader on the tractor hydraulics but just added separate hydraulic system for it. Belt driven pump.

Only remaining it is a skid plate to protect the pump.

Just picked up a ton of wood pellets. Was able to test the loader.

I was able to lift 400 lbs (10 bags) with the loader but rear wheels quickly lost traction. Top picture.

Rear tires are loaded and I have 75 lb wheel weights on each side.

Seemed that just under 300 lbs (7 bags) worked well with current tractor setup. Second picture.

Due to bucket size it was tough to even get the 7 bags balanced.

That looks great.
I am slowing working on one for my 1863.
I will use a belt or shaft driven pump also.
What pump did you use?

The single arm loader doesn’t require that much hydraulic volume.

I used this pump. This pump is available in multiple sizes but the key feature is the shaft supports a side load (ie belt driven).

I also used the split taper pulley. Really locked well onto the pump shaft.

I see you have upgraded the Front spindles also.

I have the stuff to fix mine also.

I upgraded the front bearings years ago. Actually found the upgrade on ebay.

Works well!

Nice job on the loader! :beerchug:

Looks great. Being in Vermont, maybe get get some snow removal duty.

Workinprogress 10-11-2020 09:04 AM

Thanks! Yes this should be nice for snow removal.

While this one is almost done my project list continue to grow.

Bring a 104 back to life. K241 kohler is at machine shop.
Modify trailer to have hydraulic dump.
Thinking about small logging winch out of scrap parts I have.

That looks really nice, you did a great job. I use my FEL a good bit for moving things around the property. They sure are handy to have.

More loader testing!

Thursday I had a load of 3/4” gravel delivered. Gravel is for under a roof extension on my wood shed.

Loader worked great! Easily picked up a bucket of gravel. Had great dumping control.

Even with a full bucket of gravel the bucket had little twisting.

Very happy with setup!

Nice Job! Looks good! Bet having that loader will certainly be helpful. I could definitely use something on one of mine, got lots of heavy things that need moving!

Great deal:beerchug:

What valve setup did you choose?

I like the Gage where you can see it:High5:

I used a “Brand Hydraulic LV” valve. It was one of the few joystick valves I could find with a float and an option for a low pressure relief valve. The low pressure option (spring) can range from 500 to 1200 psi which is much lower than many.

I had multiple emails with the company about my application and they were very helpful. The valve has multiple configuration depending on mounting. Another bonus - Made is the USA!

The pressure gauge will be removed at some point. While it is viewable it could easily be ripped off. Once I finalize the pressure relief valve setting it will be removed.

Thanks for the info on the valve!
There is a Distributor very close to me.
This is very helpful to me.
In my project I'm patterning off one my father bought years ago.

I have not bought any Hydraulics yet.
I will sent Brand Hydraulics Co. an e-mail.

Thanks again for the info.

The 1512 work continues! Built a cad digger 508 backhoe. Started in March and just finished painting.

That is the 6” trenching bucket. I also have a 10” bucket.

OMG I am in awe! :OMG:

Oak 06-01-2021 11:27 PM

Looks great. If you don't mind me asking, how much were the materials for it?

Great Job

Here is a breakdown of backhoe parts and cost.

Hoses, fittings, quick connectors $325
4 spool valve $275
Teeth and adaptors for buckets $100
Hardened beveled cutting edge $65
Cylinders $290
Steel $770
Paint, primer and supplies $100

Total $1,925

Based on prices when I built the loader, steel increased a lot! I would say at least a 50% increase in 6 months.

Great job on the loader and hoe!

bugeye 06-02-2021 09:59 AM

WOW. Impressive build. You could start a business selling completed bolt on attachments. I'll be in line for the first production issue.

twoton 06-02-2021 07:34 PM

Nice rig!
