4 Attachment(s)
I’m new here, but I just finished my complete restoration of my 1964 Cub 70 and trailer (I custom painted a Polar 1400 trailer to look like Cub Cadet made it)!

Engine clarification:
To answer any questions, this is an 8hp K181 engine and not the original 7 hp K161. When I bought the tractor it already had the K181 in it, so I completely rebuilt the engine with all new valves, push rods, piston and rings, gaskets, seals, and custom made my own exhaust stack with flapper
|
Nice work! That tractor looks better than new!
|
Nice Job.....!!!

Tractor looks great! You did a nice job.
|
Nice job sir. What paint did you use?
Also, judging by past posters from Texas our old cubs are few and far between there. Was that 70 imported? Congrats again on a very nice tractor and trailer project. I saw that it only took you 35 days to complete the 70, that’s hustling if you have a full time job too |

I’m a small engine mechanic/fabricator (since 1995), and buy up vintage mowers, restore them, and flip them. As for now, my 9 year old son loves riding in the trailer, so I have to keep this one for a bit |
I have the original mower deck, deck cradle, mule drive, front PTO, and rear 3 point lift as well, I just had no intentions of restoring those at this time.

Prior restoration!

Before I found and restored this Cub Cadet, I found an EXTREMELY rare 1959 Toro Pony riding mower that I restored to like new. They were only made for 2 years and only sold in the East Coast.
They are so rare that only one has sold in the past 20 years online. I will post a before and after picture. Before: Attachment 100376 |

Engine bay, notice there is nothing electrical on this mower. It has 2 speed forward and 2 speed reverse. The engine is a newer Tecumseh engine as I couldn’t get or even find a new crankshaft for the original Tecumseh that it came with.

Not nearly as old as others, but I restored this 1989 Snapper 26” high wheel push mower to new condition:

BRAND NEW never installed CCW starter/generator. I had the original one completely rebuilt (everything inside the S/G is brand new Delco parts, only the casing is original) All I did was give it 3 coats of yellow paint

Serial Number Detail

I wanted the serial number to pop when you looked at it so this is what I came up with to accent the serial number on the transmission:
