Fitmeny question ....

Will a plow frame from a 1811 fit properly on a 1872?

My son has a 2072 (SGT) that he is using the typical GT IH 54" Dozer Blade on....BUT....it was modified. The Sub Frame arms were lengthened, the Lift Arm on the A Frame was extended, and the Lift Rod was custom made. I am working with him presently on this project to take out the poorly "cobbled" modifications and make it look more professional.

BUT Lew is right. The IH blade was NOT intended for the SGT Tractors.

Unless you are will to play with tools and a welder you are looking for a 54" Snow Blade 190-401-100 :beerchug:

ok , thanks guys !

In scouring the interwebs looking at just about every available picture of an 1811 and comparing to my 1872.

Am I correct in saying that the front of the frame(steer axle forward) is the
same on the 2?

And that the major difference is in the wheelbase / length of frame?

So a front blade attaching points are the same but the shorter frame length of
the 1811 will not allow the rear mounting points to be correct?

YES..........Plus, the Bracket on the Dozer Blade "A" frame may have to extended, and the Lift Rod will also have to be extended.

The correct Dozer Blade for the 1872 was the 190-401-100 54" (Haban) Blade.

Yes that’s basically right. The factory blade for a super is a 54” one I believe was made by Harban. It’s black and not white. The white 42” and 54” IH blades weren’t made to go on the supers, but it’s not a huge job to extend the subframe and lift arms if you’re handy with a grinder and welder.
