You have to be a member with at least 10 posts to be able to vote.

Shrewcub 08-27-2018 04:39 PM

Tim, any 782 could never be as ugly as a brand new 2166. Sorry:biggrin2::beerchug:

I joined yesterday, made 2 posts that and had to wait for moderation approval.

Now I can post without needing approval and way able to help rig your election. You have a 2 point lead now.

Cub's only win over there about once a year, last year it was my 100 and the year before that it was Todd's original. If we could get enough people from here to join and get enough posts to vote we could make a Cub the winner every month next year, I think it would be pretty funny.:biggrin2:

He's over there saying that I was asking people to sign up just to vote for my tractor, it's complete BS so I posted a link directly to this thread so people could see that wasn't the case. I have never asked anybody to sign up just to vote for me, if some people did it wasn't my intention.

I made the comment to you here about chit chatting over there in general talk so I cold then vote but I was kidding. Did someone from there construe that as you cheating somehow? I apologize if someone is givin ya chit for that

I'll admit I recently joined and voted for your tractor. For me it was a simple choice. Beat up tractor vs ugly tractor, your tractor wins and fits the criteria.

I was trying to join a few months ago but they had site issues which needed to be fixed, their code generator for security was broken.

Basically I had given up because they were taking so long to fix it. You did them a favor by reminding me and had the ugliest tractor to boot.

The guy running his mouth over there is a former member of this site and he's a bit of a trouble marker. I'm not worried about it at all and don't feel I've done anything wrong but much like the great bolt debate there are different opinion's on the subject. That forum is dying over there, it's been bought and sold a few times and the current ownership hasn't been around for months to make any repairs.

Mr Wedding before you leave again I have a question. Why did you leave back in 2016? You haven’t posted since then until now. Was it only because you disagreed with Sam about the thread that went political? I mean you and him disagree politically I guess but why leave our forum completely?

What work? What exactly did you accomplish other than making yourself look like a tool?

That's a valid question Alvy. I guess for me at the time, the double standard of who can get political and who cannot on a site where the rules stated clearly that no political discussions were allowed, having a moderator post time and again his political views, (back then Sam would sprinkle politics here and there when he felt like the need), whereas I posted my view in counter to his and was promptly banned for 1 year. I thought that was ridiculous, childish and unacceptable. It pissed me off for a day or so, then I moved on.

When my banning time was up, I did lurk on this site for quite awhile and honestly Alvy, it was brutal. I did not like the 20% on this site that:

a) liked to denigrate newbies by making them look stupid, even if they asked a dumb question, this site was not very hospitable.
b) the followers of the denigrator (and it was always the same guy, JMech) who would pile on
c) the complicity of the rest

Now granted, quite a few good members left this site, making the same complaints as I am now. For me, it just wasn't a community, or at least the kind of community I would be proud to be part of.

So, I would pop in here every now and then, look around and read some stuff. At times I was still in disbelief at some stuff on here, but hey...I wasn't a member and was in no way complicit. Heck, I even read a few posts a few months ago when they were talking about me, I think I was called a tool back then too...and laughed. Being called a tool by certain kinda of people is awesome. Seemed clear that I rubbed some the wrong way...on the internet of all places, who knew that could happen????

Anyway, having said all that I did miss quite a few people I enjoyed talking with, can't remember which is which anymore as it's been so long. I remember a few really good guys on here, some maybe are still here, some for sure not.

Anyway Alvy, that's my story in short form.

Dude, you were ahead by two votes....then lost by 1, so someone gained 3 on you in a matter of hours. Coincidence? Divine intervention? Or the Shotgun?

But Tim, when it came down to it, why not let the "community" there decide their own monthly contest with their own members? Why resort to "stacking the deck" as Cooperino stated, (I know, not your post but the intent was clear). It just reeked of underhandedness.

If OCC had a similar contest, would a bunch of non-contributing members from another site piling on to influence a vote be tolerated? Would anyone care? And if not, why have a contest anyway? I do believe you are on the wrong side of the argument here, and if you can't see it that way...that's fine too. I am not here to change you, I cared about the contest and process and community at GT Talk, and I won that battle. Surely you must at least understand that with all the love you have for OCC...a "real forum". Community is everything, and your little scheme was Russian meddling.

But the people here that voted for me are also members over there, I never asked anybody to make an account just to vote for me which is what you accused me of. Either way it is what it is and the debate will end here, already to many debates on this forum as it is.

Shotgun Wedding 09-03-2018 10:03 PM

But that doesn't pass muster.

If they were members there, then they would already know to vote, because they were members of the community there. But they were not, were they? And if they were, it was because you asked this of them a few months back.

And if they were members there that regularly check in, read, lurk and post...then why not ask them there for a vote for a another cub cadet buddy?

No. You had to come here and do it. Anyway dude, I'm done too. Have a nice life.

Tool...out.

For the record, I did not vote. When I said that I was joking. It was quite clear to me that Tim was simply telling members here that are also members there that he entered the Viking. Why did he do this? Probably because most of the people who have dual memberships don't go over there much. So all he did was promote the other club really. I bet the attendance jumped in those few days.

I wont be spending much time over there if any. I see how people there banded together to vote for the less deserving member.. I say member because it looks like it turned out to be a popularity contest.. Not a tractor contest.

There's no need to defend me, I checked through every thread I've ever made about voting over there and nowhere did I ask anybody to make an account just to vote for me. I didn't realize having people who are members on both forums vote for me would be such a controversy. Either way this argument should just be over now, Roland has enough to handle on this site without having to deal with ongoing arguements about something that happened on another site.
