Today's the day
In four hours I will be sitting down to sign papers for my new house, it's been a long road to get to where we are today. I've lived in a trailer all my life so this will be my first real house and my first time having steps, hopefully I don't fall down them to many times.:biggrin2:. I'm excited for my boy's, they are both going to get nice big rooms and there is an extra room next to the living room which is where all their toys will be. They will get to go to the same schools which was something we really wanted, this house is one of the last houses in the corner of the school district and as close to work as we could get without switching schools. This house is only 3 miles from my current residence so I've passed it everyday on my way to work for the last 10yrs. I will be sure to post up some pics of the house and yard later.

Congratulations Tim! :beerchug:

Congrats Tim! :beerchug:
I had kinda the same move, I moved 1.25 miles out to the farm. I hate moving so much that I kept the old house. :biggrin2: |
Ahhhh, nothing like a house that is soon on its way to becoming a "home"!!! A place where you can hang your hat and have that feeling that your hard work is worth all of the effort to plant your roots. Congratulations!!!! Soon, you will officially become a "home" boy. Let us know when the deal is done so we can come check out your crib and hang in your hood..:biggrin2:
Happy "new beginnings" in your house Tim!!!:beerchug: Sounds like you did your homework before buying. Cub Cadet 123 |
AWESOME!!:beerchug: Now, throw everything away and start over. Wish I had when I moved my future bride in to our home. :bash::BlahBlah::BlahBlah:

Congrats :beerchug:

Your home is very welcoming Tim, Nice flat property, and for the small door opening, that is what headers and a concrete cutting saw are for.
Congrats and welcome to the home ownership club. |
Congrats on the new home Tim.:beerchug:
I bet the boys & the wifey are happy campers too. |
That’s real nice Tim. Beautiful place and love the porch. I see Mary is watching over the place as well. I also see hydroponics.......:biggrin2:

Congrats to you and the family on the new crib Tim.:beerchug:

Thanks everyone. I got three truck loads of stuff over there last night but hardly put a dent in the pile of stuff I have to move. Friday I plan to rent a box truck to take over the bigger stuff but until then I will move what I can with my pickup. The kids went crazy when they saw the house, hopefully I can get beds moved tomorrow so we can make it official.

Congratulations on the new house. It looks nice!

I forgot to mention something really cool about the house. A lot of the bricks for the pillars on the front porch have "made in the USA" cast into them. I will try to get a pic later if I remember. The original house was built in 1935 and all the interior doors are solid wood and the door hinges are cast iron with a flower pattern cast into them. The doors are painted right now but I would like to strip the doors and frames and stain them and also powder coat the door hinges in black or an antique brass color.
Here's the pic. |
Nice place Tim. Congrats
|
looks like your bricks are on backwards...
|
Good old hydronic heat + I saw a gas meter in your pic yesterday. Pretty hard to beat a natural gas boiler heating system. Very nice Tim.
|
