Put a new cub cadet factory seat on the 169 - love it! Sit up a bit higher and is alot more ergonomical for me bro g over 6 ft. She just finished mowing so not as pretty as I'd like.
Enjoy! |
I've never mowed with chains. How do you like it? Only needed for steep slopes?
Looks great! |
Thnx Andrew ! I don't normally mow with chains except at the beginning of the year. My property has some slopes and gradients that take some time to dry up so I use the chains for additional traction to prevent sliding on hills and getting stuck. They will come off once it dries up a bit more. I would really love me some firestone ags...
Oh as to mowing, I don't notice I have chains on in the grass. On the pavement it can get a tad bumpy bit I don't mind it - to each their own. |
She looks great! :beerchug:
|
Thanks Terry! I try and keep it clean and waxed!

Looks like a great working 169 cub! You really take great care of that, as the pics show. I like the "new" king's throne mounted on it. I always remind people that you can breath the king's air, but you cannot sit in the king's throne. Your 169 would be a treasure in anyone's collection!!

Mowing with chains works fine for me and is not noticable. It helps out if stuck or needing to pull something unexpectedally.

Very glamorous indeed.
How is that motor running? |
Great looking tractor. Those armrests make it look very comfortable to ride.:beerchug:

As to the seat - it's a brand new factory seat off one of the new cub models on the showroom floor at the dealer. I can't recall the model but it sure is comfy and very ergonomical as previously stated. The arm rests are great - now just need a cup holder lol. Foot controls would be icing on the cake - for the hydro |

Hey Lew! The motor seems to be running great now. Had some issues previously of it pushing oil but that's because I had installed the breather plate wrong. Also just had a bearing replaced in the starter/gen. So as of this point in time - perfect - or at least I think so to the be st of my abilities. I'm sure JMech could fine tune it though lol Thanks for asking my friend! |
Looks good.:beerchug:

Great looking tractor!

Beautiful tractor! That seat looks comfortable, you are never going to want to get off it now.

I keep trying to find excuses to mow lol |
Was the seat a direct bolt on or did you have to drill?
|
Thanks I'll be ckd at my local CC dealer. Looks comfortable. Need one for my 147 and 149.
|
That is a beautiful looking tractor. It's doubly nice that it's a worker and you maintain it and keep it looking so good. Congrats on having the best of both worlds!

Sorry for the delayed reply! Not 100% direct bolt on. This new seat is longer than the orig so I welded some flat stock to the existing "springs " (that was long enough to reach the seat) drilled new holes and bam. Think of it as an adapter plate. Other than that it's a direct fit - I love it. The arm rests are great. Gonna fab up a beer......errr water holder. |
