Throttle lever-cable 106 CC.

Just joined, I have a 1971 CC 106, I need a new-er throttle lever cable, I looked up forum sponsor Patton acres, it looked like they had one for the NF but didn't specifically state for the 106, opinions?
I also recently overhauled k-241 with MOM in gas and straight down spark plug hole for several days and it smoked incredibly then cleared up with minor smoke.
Plans for 106 is pulling boat around yard and listening to that old school idle.
I priced boring out at $85.00 and crank at $80.00 in Stuart Fl.
This will be many years out as It's only a toy as I cut my small yard with a 25 inch Snapper RER 10hp 1994 model.
Thanks in advance, as I read through many threads I liked the answers that J-mech gave so I decided to join-today. All the best,
Kevin

The part number you want is IH-543919-R1. I'd call Patton to be sure. New is around $34.00 various places.

Dammit,
wished I'd read this last night, I'd of laughed myself to sleep,-----
instead of this morning, spitting coffee out my nostrils onto my keyboard/screen on this old dina- sour laptop.
but it needed a good cleaning I guess, it had a lot of popcorn hulls stuck under the keys. :BangPC:

Kevin, it'll take some time for you to get to know your way around the site, but here's a hint: This should go in the Jokes and Humor section further down the home page. Welcome aboard!

Thanks, I think? I find myself very funny, wife of 26 years, not so much.
Much appreciated on the IH part number, no one caught that MMO overhaul?
Let me adjust to New site and I will post pictures and emojis to show point of view.
Times fun when you have flys!

Not to be a smart arse but that pix depicts a cutting head on that welding torch.
If it were me, I'd at least be wearing long sleeves, and high top boots for personal protection.
That slag hurts and burning skin smells awful :biggrin2:
And if you don't know, burning on concrete causes it to get hot enough to "pop"
sending small pieces into the air and body parts.
I apologize if you know all this and choose to ignore it.
But i would feel awful if you got hurt and I didn't advise caution.:beerchug:

Dude!,.. that's an awsome lookin cub.:beerchug: I can see it smokin from here!, but where's the International sleeper?...:bigthink:

Hey, Poser, I was just wondering.., are you,..uh,.. from the 'real' Florida?:bigthink:

Poser 02-03-2018 09:05 PM

Not me, trailer mechanic had just finished cutting on tandem boogie and I said, here, cut the lip off this channel and make into an angle, he complied.
It was quick and dirty, the asphalt didn't like it at all.
It took 20 minutes of grinding to make it flat ready for the next step.
Sleeper pictures tomorrow!

Shoulda used a plasma cutter and a straight edge for that operation, or in my case, I would have ripped it with the band saw set in vertical mode.

Poser 02-04-2018 12:37 PM

You're correct, I caught a working man working with torch in hand so figured, hey Bill, cut this lip off this channel so I can have an angle for my continuing project.
I design, he welds, works great, he dies all my important welding, I do the rest. Oops, I need to put this in the proper thread. Thanks.

Here it is, my 2000 International Eagle sleeper, one of our drivers was in this sleeper when it wrecked, he survived and retired, the cab-sleeper was scrapped and New assembly was placed back on frame rails, I cut sleeper from cab and rebuilt to look authentic, it is, interior finished and now used as an oversize toolbox.
Not many people have a sleeper in their backyard, but I do!

That's the first air conditioned toolbox I've ever seen. Good "re-purposing" .

Now all I need is a plasma cutter and an industrial band saw! :-)

It was making do with what I had, I'd stop by shop between runs and have trailer mechanic do something for me, while at work.
I do what ever works, I have no money in parts on this hitch, ih yeah, we do have a plasma cutter at work.
Still working on hitch, about to order throttle lever-cable from site vendor, thanks all:beerchug:.

No worries... I was just pulling your leg. I have none of those things at home either (other than a cutting torch) so I'd be in the same boat as you !

Poser 02-18-2018 07:39 PM

That COE is before my time, It's a classic!
I learned commercial vehicle driving at vocational school
With older cabovers and of course the ubiquitous IH 9670, told you I am International through and through!:biggrin2:
