Another turbo installation
4 Attachment(s)
Starting on a new installation on a 1772.Turbo drive line upgrade rear pto 3 point. Going to be tight but will fit.
|
Hmmm - looks familiar. Hope to put the D600 into my 2072 this spring and install your kit. Are you planning on using the stock Kubota muffler on the 1772? Or just build off of the stock flange?
|
Use the muffler and I have a stack with a flange on it.Once I get the pipes figured out they will be an option for the kit.

The pipe I built for the 782D Turbo looked similar to a sink trap, but exited thru the side panel at the stock location. I used the segmented pipe sections meant to fabricate headers on race cars etc. If I remember, I bought a 180 U bend and a couple of 30 and 45 degree sections. Add a little mig wire and I had a header.

Got some progress done driveline upgrade rear pto in have to modify the lift bar for the 3 point the supers don't have much float so I need to extend bar with a slot to let it float.
|
Another cool turbo build. About how much extra power does the turbo add?
|
A lot of bottom end torque and 9 pounds of boost on a full pull.

Got the rear PTO on and 3 point mounted I made the lift bar longer 2-1/2'' sloted to let it float like the smaller Cat-O hitches. Got the True Powers mounted what a PITA to get on the rim and bead up good thing I bought 4 ply instead of 6 ply.Mounting the V61s today

Why were you planning to put a SGT rear hitch on a GT? You would have to notch the rear frame of the 782D for it to work, even if the arms didn't fit the tank. You can put a GT rear hitch on an SGT without mods, but not the other way around. |

All put together and ready to plow -till.The super tank has cut outs for the pto driveshaft and lift arms.

Looks like the same CV shaft I put in my turbo 1772. Mine lasted a few years. The shaft has a bend in it now. Vibrates pretty bad. Time to figure out a new shaft. CVs have held up well though. Hope you have better luck.

The loader puts a lot of stress on the frame twisting.I have a Case 644 the loader is built as part of the tractor not much flexing.
|
Finally got my grass eater together. The 1772 with the turbo should be easier on fuel, when mowing I run 3-4 Psi boost at center operating temp. Need to keep eye on temp if screen gets full of Cotton wood fuzz.

Sweet!! :beerchug:

Been mowing a lot with the 1772 I get 3-4 psi boost while mowing. Very quiet with the muffler on all you hear is the blades.
|
as usual nice work Mike !

Looks good Mike. I'm about ready to install the kit on my 1772. Just waiting for another couple hours of shake down run time. The tractor set for a couple of years before I put it back together. I like the idea of a stock muffler and will be using your pipe on the next one.
|
Looks good Mike!
I don't care for the stock muffler. Too heavy. Seen a lot of broken manifolds from those huge bulky things. Not cool to hang it on a turbo unless you built a really sturdy brace of some sort. Don't want to bust a turbine housing. |

I have it on a pipe similar to stock setup tied to the engine very sturdy. Wait till I get started on the next project.22hp Yanmar in another color tractor hope to get 18psi boost.

Quote:
18 PSI on a Yanmar huh. Why do you think you will get it that high? Not much bigger engine. Yanmar and Kubota engines are nearly identical. |
52 cubic inches vs 32 .Turbo was made for 70 ci and waste gate set at 25psi.We will see.
|
You need to come over to Bluniers Plowday Oct 19th in Roanoke Il.There will be a bunch of turbos there. You might even get to drive one.
