I just got the handle for my IH Lawnboy back from the chrome shop and it looks absolutely amazing! They did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier. For those who are curious, this cost about $150. Now I need to find time to get the rest of it finished.

Where did you have it done?

Sam Mac 11-29-2017 05:57 PM

OK, I gotta ask, what is this mower worth? :bigthink:

Looks good Tim,
I am sure you did not pay that.
Sam, some back scratching went on I guess.

Not a thing when the rest of it looks like a million bucks but the handle is covered in rust.:biggrin2:

Looks great Tim! What was used for prep prior to being coated? Sandblast?

DeltaCub 11-29-2017 07:19 PM

Tim, the handle assembly looks great. Is this from the chrome shop near you?

Don't know. When I dropped it off it was chrome and rust, I assume they used something to strip the old chrome off.

So powder-chrome isn't a thing anymore?

Powder chrome is ok but there is no substitute for real chrome. Next I'm gonna see what the wheels and the 3-point off the 1211 will cost.:biggrin2:
