100 with a Woods Deck
 

Hey guys, I recently acquired a 125 with sweepster and a 100 with woods mower. I was curious how rare these birds are also if the woods would work on any nf or just the 100. The 100 is about wore slam out and needs a complete rebuild and I'm not all that fond of the style..

Yes, pics please! Around here a 100 with a Woods mower is an IH built farm tractor with a 60" aftermarket belly mower.

I have never seen a Woods mower for a garden tractor.. We have had several Farmall Cubs and a Super A with Woods mowers but never a Cub Cadet. Send us some pics!:beerchug:

This might be a front view. Kind of slick.

I've got an old Bolens mid mount deck laying around, I think it is 38" and it is quite beefy (as in stout metal). I have toyed with the idea of trying to fab it up somehow to mount like this and try use it as sort of a mini brush hog. But what always stumped me was how it would handle uneven ground. In other words, a little up or down in a straight line, the deck would ride on the casters. But what happens when the tractor is on ground that is say, rolling downhill to the right, and before the tractor gets there the deck finds higher ground on the left. Will it want to dig in, or want to flip the tractor? I'd love to see a better video of the Wood deck in action to get some ideas.

that is bad ass if so....well, its bad ass anyways, but if its made by woods bros then its real bad ass, and built like a brick sh$t house im sure...my old man went to school with one of the sons, can remember his name....we have a woods belly mower on an old '45 8N,(with sherman trans) and a rear blade on an older 2N..plus being as my dad grew up there and knew them he has a 72" finish mower for his 53 NAA jubee that he is now trying to sell due to his purchasing a scag....anybody need a 72" 3 blade cat 1 540 finish mower???, looks brand new????

My guess (never seen one in person) would be that however it mounts to the front of the tractor it would have some float to it. That way it could stay parallel to the ground better. I would think it'd need some kind of rear casters as well to keep it level. However, I don't know how well it would handle attacking a hill or whatnot at a 45° angle.

Earl doesn't have time to show off his ultra-rare find I guess. I call BS since I see no pics of it, and I can only find record of a few being found.....

No b.s. I've been having a hell of a time uploading pics. Ill keep trying though. It is the real deal woods mower, of Oregon Ill. The guy I got it from kept calling it a Mott mower but nope he's 1000% wrong...:BangPC::bash2:

I had no idea Woods even made mowers that old. Around early 80's is the first I ever head of Woods. Congratulations on a certainly rare find.

Those are very cool tractors! Nice buys! How do you engage the PTO on the 100...the PTO lever is missing?

Its direct through the downed. Push it forward and it tightens the pto belt. Pull it back loosens it.

I have no definative plans at this point. I may would be willing to trade for the right attachments but those would be very rare as well. I really like the woods, just wish it worked with qc so I could install on a later tractor.

The mower should fit on any narrow frame tractor.

waaaaaaaaay cool..... i had an idea to build something like this out of an old deck for this monkey wards/gilson 16hp tractor i got, and just run the mule belt the other way, it has hydr lift etc...I didnt know someone actually made one!! i have seen the mott flail mowers that mount in the front in person but never an actual finish mower....makes sense, cuts before the wheels mash the grass, better turning...plus my old man is from oregon so i like there stuff, remindes me of grandpas farm...ive actually been to the plant...

I don't plan to sell it. I like the way it allows me to get in close and tight where the big mower cannot get. Its pretty cool to operate too, its kinda like a zero turn mower. It is a bear to find parts for though. I hit something while mowing and sheared a bolt. I have the new left hand thread bolt now I have to weld a bolt in and get the broken one out. Whats even harder ia the fricken blades. No one makes them any more.
