Unofficial word was that we set a new attendance record for RPRU at 42,000+
I did not get out and about much as I was tied up at the inside Cub display area in the 4H Bldg every day. I do think these to FFA lads approved of my 104!! |
Is it 2019 yet?
|
I was there 3 days. It was a great show with a lot of red paint! Just about anything IH ever built was there along with many custom built tractors.
Probably the most unusual was a 70s era tractor with a V12 GMC truck engine. It was stretched out to fit the engine in the frame. Very well done and looked factory. Wish I'd taken a picture. Sam, you would be disappointed. There not a single Cyclops tractor at the show. |
Don,
Did you get a pic of the Sunstrand test cub? I grabbed the paper describing it but didn't take a pic. Was my favorite thing there. |

You were just hanging out in the AC. :biggrin2: The cubs looked great. Missed seeing ya there. I did look for you. My Son and I were there Friday. BTW, how'd the vote turn out for the 147? Restore or leave original? I vote for original. :beerchug: Overall great show. Hot day, but the Air Conditioned buildings were nice. Lots to see and do, even though they had it spread out enough....... |
I may have been in the Ag bldg., worked there part of Thursday, had a freezer on display there. Decided to put in on the auction and we had to move it that afternoon.
The 147 garnered many more votes to leave it as is!! I picked up a 100 w/deck, Brinly sleeve hitch, plow and spring assist as well as a 42" blade and lights. So I went down w/4 Cubs and a freezer and came back w/5 Cubs and NO freezer!! Ask me to tell you about the freezer someday. Gonna write a book, "Freezer Follies and Other Stuff I Shouldn't have Gotten Mixed up with"!!! Damn camera broke so I only had the stupid phone to take pic's, PITA!!! |

What followed me home from RPRU
Basically, a swap for my freezer and Irma Harding props. |
Looks like a fair trade to me Dave. Nice snags! :beerchug:
|
Nice looking 100. Congrats!:beerchug:
|
Sounds like a good deal to me! :beerchug:
|
Thanks Guys!
Kinda funny, I had my 147 survivor there as well in the show. all cleaned up but in no way restored, working clothes, battle scars and all except for the repaired electric lift. Had a paper (poll you might say) laying on the hood asking should I restore or not. Only got a few votes but the whopping majority was to leave as is!! |
