1450ds junkyard dog

I did a little horse trading today and came home with this piece of junk, what the h3ll was I thinking?:biggrin2: I have a few different ideas bouncing around in my head about how I want to build it, it definitely won't be stock when I'm done. I'm sure the purists will want me to restore it to original but I figure it was in a junkyard before I got it so I can do whatever I want with it and not feel bad.

They all need saving Tim, no matter how roached. And with that option it's a no brainer.

Your picture reminds me of an idea we had in a jeep club I used to be in. We came up with an idea to build a "club jeep" that we built all from spare parts that someone/friends who didn't have a jeep could wheel or we could have it as a spare if someone's was down and we were going on a trail ride. It was half there when we got it and everyone donated parts and time and the mechanics in our group put it together. Pretty fun to get ideas and put it together on a bare bones budget and see the end result.

I'm sure you will make it sweet. Any cats that you would like to let out of the bag?

Knowing you it will be cool. :beerchug:

Not bad, I'd have to guess you were interested in that dual spool valve, and twin stick. I would have got that carcass too!

I'm open to ideas. I have an extra cat O setup i'm planning to put on it, i also have a few custom paint jobs in mind.

Yep a twin stick! Worth saving it! As long you don't have a "Patio" paint job in mind I'm sure he should look amazing Tim

Now we know where that high dollar NOS Deere Patio hood and seat on Ebay went!:biggrin2: Only question remains is what's he using for an engine and front wheels?:bigthink:

I ain't the one you got to worry about!!!:biggrin2: So if she were to ask the OCC membership, you were PAID $50 to haul that cub away, right? Got to keep these stories straight you know.

I actually traded for it, the guy i deal with sells to alot of pullers so the hydro tractors don't hold alot of value to him except for the engines. I traded a stripped down 122 with a blown engine for it, he wanted $150 for the 1450 but i only had $50 in the 122 that i traded.

darkminion_17 01-29-2017 06:22 PM

I think you did ok on that deal, looking for a super frame to make it looooonger, I bet you are make a cublimo

I'm currently leaning toward something like this.

Alvy 01-29-2017 11:27 PM

Interesting idea Tim, Always liked the demonstrators. There's a few at our show and Stews IH stuff in Leesburg I think has every model made. Seeing a scaled down version would be cool

olds45512 01-30-2017 10:18 PM

I started a thread on this in the customized cubs section.
