U.P. winter could be severe

Forecast calls for warm November, but La Nina may then kick in.

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!:biggrin2:

The weather people cannot tell you accurately what happened yesterday.
Good luck with tomorrow's weather forecast much less a seasonal one. :bash2:

No.... no, I don't think so.

You can have all the "frightful" weather you like. Don't come on here asking for help with your cub when it won't start, or fails to function properly. You wished for it, you better be ready for it. :bash2:

Well, don't know for sure what the winter forecast for the U.P will be. But, here in Ohio, we had a warm month of October thus far, with temps in the 80's that have not been felt since 1960, I believe. Last November, on Thanksgiving, the weather was mild as well, which followed was a mild winter with out alot of snow.

Bring it on!!!!

Ha! :biggrin2:

That's pretty warm....We won't be seeing temp's like that until maybe next June.

This morning we had a very heavy frost, everything was white, the overnight low was 25F the coldest yet.

This fall our colors wasn't much in our area, the only leaves on the trees now are dead brown oak leaves :biggrin2:

A tank of fuel will last me a winter,,,

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...psdclhkhqi.jpg

If we EVER get a 8-12 inch range snow,,,
I will put the chains on just to see what it will do.

Under 8, no chains needed,,,
over 14,, I am pretty sure this rig would be useless, without incremental plowing,,,

I have a set of chains for my CC 149,,, they will fit the front tires,,,
might have to try ALL tires chained.

COME ON,,, SNOW!! :beer2:

cadzag72 10-26-2016 09:12 PM

I don't mind the snow, it's the rocks my qa-42a manages to find and toss that bug me. I sweep the driveway every fall before the first snow, but they still find their way into that chute!:bash2:

ol'George 10-26-2016 09:57 PM

It is even more fun when you have a gravel driveway :bash2:

drglinski 10-27-2016 08:59 PM

I enjoy moving snow. Always have. I liked using Dad's Farmall H when I lived at his place, and enjoy it with the 147 now that I have my own home. I always thought this setup would be fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRYk3mPs__s

I didn't find a snow blade for my 1450 yet and I'm tired and frustrated!
I can find ton's of SW48 in good condition for cheap around here, the only draw back was no indoor storage space for this machine unless I sell 2 of my Cub cadet...:bigthink:

Sam Mac 10-28-2016 11:02 PM

Those are pretty cool alright and the price doesn't seem to bad, being around 2K.

We don't have any of those around here, just a lot of rump rockets ( like the one Sam has) :biggrin2: and snowmobiles.

2K if you buy one in summer with a gas engine and a C6 Ford tranny, those two are 2000 "hydro" with Perkins 4 cylinder Diesel engine (Good for 10 to 12K before TBO) They cost a arm and a leg....

I you want one I can get two 1981 in good condition with gas engine and C6 tranny for 4.5K CA each ($3400 US each before US Custom taxes) But it's a hell of a ride for you (15Hr). Here 2 pictures:

Yuuup it's getting pretty cold old Sam.

I mount a 120 watt led light bar on the Cab of the Cub and a 27 watt led flood light in the back.

I'll have to post some photos of it when I start using it probably not until the ground freezes and the snow is dry.

I always start out using the Jeep for the first couple of wet snow falls.

I'm as ready as ready can be...enjoy your rides on your rump rocked and be careful :biggrin2:

olds45512 11-17-2016 11:30 AM

It's supposed to be 70 here tomorrow and snow on Sunday.

Steve149 11-17-2016 04:00 PM

I saw that on the news today Tim...I am soooo not ready for this crap...I don't even have the wheel weights on yet! Been Slacking

Tom4981 11-17-2016 05:28 PM

Talking 3-7 inch's with wind gusts 35 to 45 late Friday afternoon, I'll have to build a snowman riding rump rocket and send it to Sam:biggrin2:

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"

Sam Mac 11-17-2016 05:44 PM

Just got home from riding, now I'm sitting on the porch in a tee shirt with a cocktail in my hand. Going riding again tomorrow, supposed to be even warmer. Then we get the cold crap, low 50's. At least no white stuff. :beerchug:
