Can I use these dual wheels on my 782?

I have a chance to pick up a set of dual wheels/tires at a good price. They are the right size but the wheels are 6 lug. They came of a Sears, but the seller believes they will fit. I think they have to be 5 lug to fit.

The long bolts connect the two rims together, but doesn't the inside wheel need to bolt to the tractor hub (5 lug)? That means I can't use these, correct? They are loaded and so will be difficult to transfer to my rims.

If your just going to use those wheels on the outside then they should work, 6 lugs doesn't matter on the outside wheels.

IF those are 12" wheels AND the rings fit where they should on YOUR existing wheels AND the holes (for the long bolts) match up with the holes in your old wheels, you could use the ones in the picture as the outside wheels on your Cub.

Those are some FUNKY looking wheels, from the picture they look like someone welded those centers into the wheel.

Take a Cub wheel with you to see if everything lines up.

That's a solid piece of advice right there.:beerchug:

If they came off of a Sears, they're off of an FF18, 20, or FF24. The hulks or "Supers" of the Sears world. They had 6-lug hubs, and usually ran 26-12-12 tires on 12-12 rims. So, the tires may be big unless you already have 26-12-12s on your 782.

You need some DMI type duals that slip on and bolt in

Did you make those? Or buy them? Or is it just a pic off the net?

I am curious about that myself? They sure look good.

That bolt pattern looks pretty big. You might be able to drill 5 holes inside of those for the Cub pattern. Take a tape measure too.

Found this chatter on another forum:
"Has anyone ever seen or have these? I just bought this set. They're made by DMI (Dietrich Manufactiring, Inc.) of Goodfield, IL (where I used to live before moving to Minnesota). You probably know the DMI name from their farm equipment. DMI was bought out by Case/IH quite a while back, and then became part of CNH Global. They still have the plant in Goodfield that makes some equipment but it's being shut down. These are just like the big farm ag clamp on duals. This 12 inch garden tractor size was a limited production from what I can find... there's not many out there. There's a Cub collector who made some reproduction sets a few years back, but these are originals. They're the only original set I've ever seen... just wondered if anyone else here has seen a set, and wanted to share the picture if you've never seen them. dmi.jpg"

Veeeeeery interesting,

You can prolly mount the other set using the ww bolt holes, just my 2 cent

I believe the plant in Goodfield, IL is still in operation but I believe they are strictly making tillage equipment for CNH. I am located about 30 min SE from there and pass it every month on our way to the children's hospital for my son's appts. I can't say I have seen a set of these around anywhere local. Kind of like when the local M&W factory was bought by the Alamo group, all the old stuff was melted down.

I think that's where the spacer was bolted against the rim. The paint is just more intact.

DMI duals

I made them a few years back. Not much market for them so I only made a couple of sets.My 782diesel utility has a set for 26-12-12 tires. The other ones were for 23-8.50-12 tires.I put bigger rods in mine the originals were 3/8'' and I used 1/2''.
