My Dad's 1961 Original

Here are some pics of my Dad's 61 OCC. He has been gone over 7 years now but she is still going strong and will pass it on to my Son and Grandson some day.

Its Serial # 14,882 and I also own #14,883. My Dad and I repainted it about 15 years or so ago and she still looks pretty good.

It was stripped to bare metal, used used a rattle can bare metal primer and used a lower line acrylic enamel called Western I think. Virtually no peeling and still has a good shine. Not bad for the cheaper stuff.

I plan to tear this one and 14,883 down and rebuild and paint both in the next few years, take them to a few shows when I get a little older.

Wow that looks great. The bigger story is oh my word how did you get the next in line serial number that's amazing! With 65,000 made that's actually something to be very proud of and you should play the lottery sir!

Really though that O is extremely nice, thanks for sharing.

I had already bought it and had it on the trailer when I looked at the number. Dang good thing I didn't look first or I would have had to pay more! I don't have a poker face!

I bought them 30 miles and a few years apart, just dumb luck. I will never part with them however!

That's really cool!

The story behind, the actual condition of that machine, the commemorative front plate with your dad's name on it, in only two words.... Totally amazing!

Nice pair of O's, Randy. You can show 'em both this weekend at the Chilhowee Antique Tractor Show, east of Harrisonville on 2 Hwy.

I have been to that show in the past, but I am going to western Kansas this next weekend to see family and friends.

I hope to do more tractor shows this next year!

Thank you so much for all the kind words!

My Dad was my best friend and we went to many tractor shows together. I has been hard to go to shows and tractor pulls without him.

I need to get a picture of myself, my son and grandson while I have it cleaned up. I really use the tractor a lot and don't always keep it so clean.

Thanks again, Randy
