Country radio stations

Hey guys, I just can't stand the local "chick country" radio station we got around here any longer! Any of you have a station that you like that plays real country music and can stream live?

(Jmech, funny I always remember the KSHE pig being a country station when I was a kid, guess I was wrong)

This is the station I listen to up here in MT. Its a good station. I also listen to prime country on XM and 90s country on Pandora.

I can't stand country music..... not now anyway. I used to listen to it in the 80's and 90's. I'm more of a rock guy. I listen to Pandora or XM. You can customize Pandora stations, and XM has like 300 channels. Bound to be one for you on it.

XM is the only way to go. I have had it for at least 12 years now. I can't stand the stupid crap they play on FM + I like a little explicit language with my music!:buttrock: I'm kind of a hard rock/metal guy but I do have a pretty good mix in the CD changer.:biggrin2:

siruis/xm is the best, they play real country music with no commercials. channel 58 is prime country and they play 80's, 90's and early 2000's, channel 59 is willies roadhouse and they play the older stuff.

Commercial radio stinks (that's being nice), I refuse to listen at all, we have a local non-npr college station that I listen to exclusively, WNMC.org complete volunteer, it can be streamed, but they play jazz during the day, at 5:pm they start with some blues / folk / real country / type of stuff most week days, Thursday night is the big country show, starts about 7pm I think, goes till 9, classic / alt country which is what we should be listening to, the new people that are trying to do it right mixed in with some classics. Sunday morning at 10:am there is a "head for the hills" show, classic old school country and rockabilly for 2 hours, great stuff.
That all being said and me blowing the horn of my favorite radio station, there are some good streaming stations that I have found on itunes radio or other when I have been forced to find something, It's out there just not easy to weed thru the commercial crap to find it.
Good luck an please share if you find something!

Country music makes me violent!!!:Choke: I have a very strict music control policy.....If there is music around, then I am in control. Ponderosa restaurants usually play country music, so whenever I dine in I ask for the manager and explain to him/her how that kind of music is bad for my digestive processes and they change it!! It helps when I give my name as Ted Nugent, too!

I just ask Alexa to play some hillbilly music, and she responds to my command,no commercials either.
In the truck I have a 10 cd disc player at my fingertips.

181.FM Highway 181

very few commercials .... just good country music.....you can find it on tunein app ...or do a wifi search. streaming is the way to go. 181 also has many other genre to choose.

Couple weeks back I found a music website, Accuradio. So far its great and they have other types of music too.

I highly recommend Sirius satellite radio. 300 channels and you get to choose. No commercials, crystal clear reception all the time. Well worth the subscription of $9.90 a month. I have it in the shop and in both our vehicles.

cubs-n-bxrs 01-15-2017 05:15 PM

When I listen to country it's on Pandora on the outlaw country station.:beerchug:

2009Dodge 01-15-2017 08:43 PM

My truck has a lifetime subscription to Sirius.:D It still doesn't replace my fav station moose country 107.5. I moved and I'm just out of reach. Sometimes early in the morning I can get it. I'll have to check out accuradio. Otherwise I got slacker and tune-in.
