Haban sickle on a 149

Just got my sickle mounted on a strong 149. This thing is an absolute blast. Been mowing ditches and culverts all over my neighborhood. Worked well once I sharpened the teeth and oiled everything

I also mounted the bar to the end so it wouldn't get clogged up, prior experiences.

Looks awesome. What model is it?

Rmowl 08-19-2016 07:18 PM

It is a Haban 402E, for the wide frames. I have a pile of narrow frame runners but no free wide frames so picked this guy in philly last Sunday when it was 100 degrees out, nothing better to do. It's so awesome. Thanks twoton!

Damn! That is nice.

Thanks Allen and Todd! Lew, my mechanically inclined buddy is coming up with something to make it easier to lift that bar. Jason, that is a sharp setup! One thing is for sure, I am glad I keep the policy of keeping one cub per job, because that bar was a bear to mount

Gotta get me one of those. Course then I'd have to get another tractor...:bigthink:

Sounds like a win, win situation!:beerchug:

I have a ball with my Haban. I hooked up a winch for power lift of the blade and I use the tractor lift to pickup the sub frame.

I looked for years for one, it was worth the wait as I feel I got a pretty good deal on it and it's complete.
Sam, we ended up hooking the hydro lift up to the sub frame just like you have, and rigging up a 4 wheeler winch to lift the bar, great idea!
