Deck ID tag missing
1 Attachment(s)
Is this a 44A or 44C deck? Came off a 1975 1250 model. Deck ID tag is missing. What size deck belt would I need?
Thanks |
The deck drive takes the same belt whether it is a 44A or a 44C.
Did you even go look at the parts book yourself? If not, try that. http://www.cubcadet.com/equipment/cu...vice-and-parts |

If I had a parts manual, I wouldn't have asked, now would i??? But thanks for clarifying that belt works for either or. |

I gave a link to the parts manual.... Or did you click on it???
It's available all the time... online, everyday and night. Feel free to use it.... because it's free.:biggrin2: |

yes?
I have a 44" deck on my 149 but I didn't know that there was a A and C version. What's the difference? Not that it matters, just another one of those curious things. If I never find out I suppose it won't have a great meaning for my life and I don't want to compare a parts list of one to the other but if someone want to share what the difference might be I'll be glad to read it. LOL! |
Whew,
An "A" deck has a 1/2" drive belt from the engine so the center pulley is 1/2" to match. On a "C" deck, the belt & pulley is 5/8" wide. Clear as mud?:bigthink: |
Randy, there's also a "Just plain ol' 44" version. Talk about curious! I think we should just keep wondering...:bigthink: :biggrin2:

Now that link provides an excellent and clear response. Even I understood that. Thanks R Bedell for your helpful, short and sweet answer.
ahahahahahahaaaa.....It's been years since my 149 has even been used. It's the first Cub I ever bought so that's why I keep it. I have a difficult time selling stuff. That explains the 8 Cubs I have now and two JDs and one over 30 year old Craftsman GTV16. |

There were three (3) versions of the 44 inch Mower Deck
* 44 for the 1x8/9 Series * 44A for the Quietline Series * 44C for the 82 Series. This answered my question. I just new I had a 44" deck on my 149, not knowing there was an A or C. I must have the plain old 44. I guess mine isn't referred to anything other than a 44" deck. I suppose this is only useful if someone would ask if it was the A or C deck. I wonder why A and C??? What happened to B??? LOL!!!! |
