Serial #57596
I thought I saw a list of serial #'s telling what tractor it is. Can't find it. Serial # 57596. What tractor is it? Thanks and have a great day.

Here's the chart.
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=7114 Looks like it's a 63 so it's either a 70 or 100 depending on engine size. |
With that low number it's more that likely an Original built in May of '63
70-100 production started w ser #65458 thru #127160 beginning in Aug of 63 Source: Oscar H. Wills 50 Years of Cub Cadet |
A pic would help.

This is correct. Only, it's not just likely to be an "O".... it WILL BE an "O". |

Thanks for all the reply's. The tractor is in an ad bulletin and I do not have a picture. Man said it had a rope start on it and he put a s/g on it. It starts but does not charge. Did any of the early tractors come with out a s/g? He wants $250.00 for it. It has no fenders but it may come from the factory with out them. He said it had a rear lift on it. Motor runs and gears work. Would it be worth the price? Have a great day.

Pull start is a pretty rare option. If it works and not broken, that alone is worth the asking price. Fenders were optional.

Went to look at the tractor That I posted the serial # on. Have attached pictures. It started and ran. Smoked at start up but cleared out a bit after running, but still smoked a little. Engine does have a pulley for a pull start. Transmission went in all gears and moved. Clutch and brake seemed to work ok. Big plate attached to steering box was very loose. Looked like a bolt had backed out. Mule drive pulleys were frozen and it did not look like it was for this tractor. Mower deck looked to be for a wide frame or narrow frame, but not for this tractor. Does have a rear lift on tractor. Guy's in the know, please jump in and let me know what every thing is and is it worth $250.00? will attach more pictures with 2nd posting.
Thanks and have a great day. Bob |

I'm not trying to be a smart-a$$ here but if you are questioning the asking price of $250, I'm wondering what do you have to see that makes you positive what you think is worth $250. Good grief my man, step aside and let someone else have a crack at it and save your $250 for that '57 Chevy ragtop that the "lil' ol' lady down the street only drove ta church".
|
if i liked O's i'd be all over that for $250, better go get it before its gone.
|
It would already be home at my place if I were in your shoes...
|
Probably not worth any moresponses than the asking price.
That DOES NOT have a pull start on it. |
Wrong engine
|
Original bones but different organs. :biggrin2: mule is wide frame, rear lift is always good. I'd go a bit lower than 250, but you can recoup some $ selling the deck and mule
|
What are your plans for it? Restoring will require a correct engine. If you just want to play around the rear tires and lift are worth the asking price. If restoring then maybe look for a different one.

Thanks for all the reply's. J-Mech, it does have a pull start. The owner wrapped a rope around the pulley that is behind the pulley at rear of engine, and pulled it. Cub Cadet, I thought it was the wrong engine. Owner was pretty sure it was a Wisconsin engine. Rear tires are showing a lot of cracks. I am still working on my 149 to make it look as good as I can. Would not try to make this look much better. Too much work involved. May try to get it running properly and resell it. Don't know what the rear lift would be worth. If the deck fits a wide frame, It is better than the 38" deck that I have. Still haven't decided what to do. Have a great evening.

Wrapping a rope around a pulley on a Wisconsin Engine and pulling on it is not at all the same thing as an original equipment Cub Cadet Original pull start.
|
From the looks of it the wisconsin engine has a external magneto on it,Now Sam,I use a rope to start my o that way.
I would have that one home by now.... |
