So how's your weekend going? Mine's been Super :)

I picked up my first Super this weekend, a 2182. It was a pretty long road trip to get it, but I got it and I am home.... finally!

It came with a 60" deck and a set of wheel weights. It also came with a 54" haban 401 dozer blade.

I don't currently own a trailer, so we pulled the deck so the tractor would fit in my pickup. Thankfully I have a full size truck with a 8' bed. Once the tractor was in the bed, I didn't like how the deck was going to fit along the side and rub on the wheel weight, so I ended up pulling the weights also.

Between the tractor, deck and dozer blade I dont think much else would have fit in the bed.

I bought it from the orignal owners brother in law. it has 890 hours on it. Only one small crack in the plastic just above the exhaust, the guy put a small piece of sheet metal behind the crack with some sheet metal screws. Seems to be holding. No other cracks in the plastic.

He let me mow part of his back yard for a test before I committed to buy it. Luckily my back was to him as I pulled away sitting on the tractor. I was all smiles as soon as I hit the seat, and gave it some throttle :)

I'm really impressed with how it mows! The Kubota runs real smooth and quiet . After we pulled the deck before loading it I got under the tractor to check the rear end, all the bolts are tight and I did not see any cracked mounts. Real happy about that.

Was hoping to get home before dark to get a few good pictures of it and the attachments. But it was a long trip. I got it unloaded and had to take it for a spin around the yard.

Will try to get a few better pictures tomorrow.

Looks like a nice tractor!!

Those 2182's are among the best Cub Cadets built.. Those gas Kubotas are super smooth and sound great to boot!:beerchug::beerchug:

Habans are hard to beat also... they really sling the grass like no other!

You will love this tractor!!:beerchug:

Thanks guys!

I'm not sure about the wise part... however I did a ton of reading on here, so I would know what areas to look at on these supers. I didn't want to go in blind or end up with something that needed lots of repairs...

I was hoping to find a 1782 but nothing showed up that I liked or within driving distance.

I'm real happy I bought the 2182, it puts my current mower to complete shame.

What did you use previously? Not that it matters yours would put most to shame. By the way it's light outside now, how bout some more pics? :beerchug:

My current mower, promise you won't ban me from posting on OCC,, LOL it's a LTX1046 with a 20 hp kawasaki

Nothing to write home about. I bought it new a few years ago at home depot, because I needed a mower right away and there were not any older cubs in my area to be found. It has a 160 hours on it, I have not had any problems with it other then one idler pulley and a deck belt. I like the KW, but the rest of the mower is not built to last.

Here are a few more pictures of the 2182 & deck & plow.

You told me what you paid for it and all I'm gonna say is that Lew would be drooling.............

Give it some TLC and it will last a LONG TIME. Well done. :beerchug:

The 1046 is going to go on Craigslist next week. It will make someone a decent mower for a acre or 2 of land. I have 4 acres it was a all day affair to mow it with the 1046. The 60" Haban outta cut down on seat time...

I also have a 782D with a 50" deck, that I've had in hibernation in my shed since 2013. Plan to have it up and going in July. So between the 2182 & 782D, that 1046 can hit the road....

Yeah, I'm happy with the deal I got. What I didn't tell you was how far I had to drive to get it, but that does not matter I wanted one so the trip was worth it....all 1650 miles of it :) Thankfully my truck gets good mileage, I only used $175 worth of fuel.

Next week I'm going to change all filters & fluids and grease all the zerks. Speaking of zerks, they are everywhere on the 2182, my 1046 only has two.

I'm also going to order a set of braces for it. I want to put a 3 pt on it and buy a few attachments for it. I have some dirt work to do this fall.

Sounds like it has found a good home. That is a long way to go for a Cub. Where did you go get it?

It was in St. Genevieve MO. I've only seen 2 Supers on my local Craigslist in 3 years I been watching for one. 1 had a blown engine and the guy still wanted $1,000 for it, 2nd one sold in minutes of being listed I was the 8th caller in under 20 minutes. Every Super I see is back east, so I was committed to driving if I wanted to get one....

RedOnes 06-28-2016 05:50 PM

..1650 miles ..woah ...makes me appreciate living in Midwest. Reminds me of a thread someone started in here entitled "How far would you drive for a cub ".or something similar.
enjoy ..hope it serves you well... :beerchug:
