Road trip and member meet

4 Attachment(s)
So after 11 1/2hrs I finally arrived in Columbia TN, on the way down I stopped to meet Randy ( aka RR1862CC ) to deliver his new 1050. The trip went pretty smooth other than the hour of rain that got my nice clean truck dirty, the new trailer hauled great. Tomorrow I will spend the day at powder coating school so I can learn how to properly powdercoat cubs parts:biggrin2:, here's some pics that were irresponsiblly taken at high speed. The stadium is in Nashville and is the home of the Tennessee Titans.

cubcadet 03-09-2016 07:51 PM

Cool pics Tim, sounds like fun, save travels, enjoy the trip.

darkminion_17 03-09-2016 07:51 PM

Tim,where is the welcome to jersey sign?
Glad you made it there without an incident.

I could have went through Jersey but that would have been the really long way, I'd probably get here tomorrow.:biggrin2: here's a few of the Nashville skyline.

Road trips are fun. Road trips cub related are even more fun.

V30crewcab 03-09-2016 08:27 PM

I'm just off exit 11 on I-75 if you're near chattanooga.

Alvy 03-09-2016 08:39 PM

Alright Tim 11 more hours and you're here. Glad you're bringing a trailer I have a couple for you :biggrin2:

Friends of mine just bought a powder coating system, really comes out nice.

RR1862CC 03-09-2016 09:38 PM

Great meeting you as well Tim. I just got in and faced that look when she saw the trailer was not empty, lol. I see you got a pic of the "Bat Building" on the way through down town.

V30crewcab 03-09-2016 10:09 PM

BUSTED! now what ya gonna do?

RR1862CC 03-09-2016 10:17 PM

It will blend with the other yellow and white things around here and after tomorrow she will not be able to point it out. Maybe that is why I do not have any red Cubs :biggrin2:

I got all the color swatches today of all the colors they offer and I found this one interesting, can't wait to go home and see how close it actually is to the case/ih paint.

Billy-O 03-11-2016 06:32 AM

You didn't travel all the way to Tennessee to deliver a single Cub with that big trailer pulled by a pick up truck!?! You've got to be coming back to PA with a bigger load or something! Do tell!

The only thing that will be on the trailer for the ride home is a 1282 and maybe a plow that I have to pick up in KY.

My first attempt at powder coating just came out of the oven, the first pic is before baking. We were allowed to pick our color and of course I picked cub yellow.:biggrin2:

JLM78 03-11-2016 05:54 PM

Don't look bad

zippy1 03-11-2016 06:19 PM

Looks good in the picture, how do you think it looks like in person Tim?

You still picking up the IH/Lawn Boy push mower?

Alvy 03-11-2016 08:35 PM

A lot easier than painting right Tim? I've found out it's much more forgiving and not so many steps to get a good result like painting. A friend of mine bought out a powder coating business and I've been dabbling with it, pretty cool how it all works

I got it last night around 10:00, after an hour of talking cubs I hit the road for Carrolton KY and got to the hotel around 12:30. 5 1/2hrs later I'm back up to go pick up the 1282 before heading home.

RR1862CC 03-12-2016 09:28 AM

Good news,I knew you were wanting to get up there to pick it up. I put the carb on the 1050 last night and she fired right up. Smoked a little then cleared up. When I get time I will run it some more then decide which engine to go with. I am out of the dog house now because I sold the other tiller and a goKart last night,I might have to give that 682 near me another look now ;)

Push mower is cool! Cub Cadet Yellow sample you made looks like a Cub Cadet Yellow!

1620 miles is a lot of ground. Hope you got cheap gas before crossing back into PA state border. For me, the Silverado is comfortable for the long haul. I hope it was the same for you!:beerchug:

darkminion_17 03-12-2016 07:04 PM

Nice mower Tim,I seem to pass on those when I see them at auctions, rather get some seat time.besides, where am I gonna put them?

cubcadet 03-13-2016 07:22 AM

Nice mower Tim.:beerchug:

jaynjeep 03-13-2016 08:39 PM

Looks like a neat mower Tim..

I used to use the Lawn Boy version of that same mower about 20 years ago. Still got it.. just haven't run it in forever.. That thing worked great.. couldn't hardly stall that two stroke even in high grass... it just kinda sputtered and putted under no load but when you loaded it... smoothed right out!:beerchug:
