Thoughts after today's snow removal

First, the QA42 on my 125 just amazed me once again. Clearing my neighbor's driveway I had drifts up to hood height. Somehow the QA 42 managed to throw snow. My only problem was the cotter pin for the chute control broke ( I've had the QA42 for 12 years ). Neighbor Vic had the correct size hair pin and I was back in business.

Second, I really like my IH Windbreaker but I think at just under 6' tall and 220 lbs, I'm about maximum size for anyone to comfortably use one. As snow collected on the roof, it touched my head and also my left knee was against the door so I could control the speed / direction with the hydro lever.

Snow coming into the cab wasn't too bad. I have a hydraulic lift on the 125 and the IH Windbreaker wasn't sculpted to fit around it.

All in all it was a good day. :beerchug:

I have spare belts for the starter generator, the QA42 snow thrower and both spare belts for the 42" cast iron end mower deck. I "think" I have the correct belt for the hydraulic lift but I'm going to measure it to make sure.

I'm going to add a couple cotter pins to the under seat storage too.

Jeff, glad you had a great day in the seat and your cub performed well. Looks like the chute on your snow thrower is stubby. I wonder if you extended it or had a fuller chute, then maybe you would not have the snow build up on top of your cab as much.

It was still windy this morning so I was getting "swirl".

I stayed warm and dry so it was only a minor inconvenience. :beerchug:

Jeff,
Once you go cab,you never go back.
To the motor cycle helmet.

My thoughts on snow is that snow sucks, cold weather sucks. I'd rather be cutting grass and sitting by the pool in 90 degree weather. Yeah I know It's good to want. Did I ever mention that I hate snow? :biggrin2::beerchug:

If I need to use the blade on the other 125 it'll be motorcycle helmet time :beer2:

I liked snow when I had a snowmobile.

Sounds like she did a great job! I'm keeping my eye out for a blower. I was always curious about the height of the soft cab. I'm 6'2 guess I'd have to duck! Lol I hate snow too! We haven't had any to speak of.

I like and actually enjoy the snow. Jealous of those who got so much and I only have a dusting....while my cub slowly weeps. I am living vicariously through those who got some and are using their cubs. If I want to sit someplace where it is 90 degrees, I have to go sit in the corner and that's not fun.

Sam drowned that kid in Chivas years ago, then buried him in the back yard with the Kubota.

Jeff, I was wondering about visibility on the front & sides? Does it stay pretty clear of snow & moisture or does it build up and become a problem seeing out of the cab?

I am with you Sam! We only have a couple inches total all year but its been bitter for way too long! Not enough snow for the kkids to even enjoy it and in order tk leave the house to attempt to do anything out side yoy either need golf cleets or ice skates!!

Forward visibility was perfect as the windshield is brand new. Side visibility is pretty good as the soft cab itself blocks the view.

There is enough airflow thru the cab that moisture doesn't build up at all.

I put my windbreaker on my 582 special. Did pretty good. I was rather toasty, but I don't wanna drill holes in my fenders for it.

Blowing Snow

1 Attachment(s)
I had my fair share of snow in the face this weekend. My Q-36 blower did a great job with all that we had here in Maryland. A cab would be awesome maybe I will be able to find one sometime.
